This is a great last game of the year vs the Rangers. Something for them to remember for next season.....
Sweep would have been nice, but we keep chugging along towards October. I'm guessing that since Bielak wasn't used today he's likely gonna start in Odorizzi's spot Saturday. Maybe him and Javier tandem.
Umps must just feel sorry for the Rangers. It would be interesting to see if there is any year-to-year stickiness in that stat, although i'd presume there is not.
Am I the only one that has a smidgen of hope that Josh James is going to use these last couple of weeks to figure things out and become a weapon out of the bullpen in the playoffs? Dude has had everything except control, if he can just throw strikes he becomes dynamite.
He has looked a lot better throwing strikes since his return. It sucks his velo is down but his secondary pitches may be good enough such that with increased command he could still be an effective reliever. I would like to see more of him.
Doubt he makes the playoff roster. He hit 97 last night. Sure, not 100 but plenty effective if he ever dials in his command.
I'd love to see this from the Oilers Jerry Glanville era and recent Harden era. Those teams got screwed regularly and everyone knew it. Go ask Sean Jones about Denver game were Elway's left tackle, tackled Jones 3 times to save Elway's life on the final drive. The Atlanta Falcons game where an Oiler was tackled and down got up and a defender runs over picks up the ball runs the length of the field for a touchdown TWICE. The announcers were so puzzled with what was going on. Glanville nearly had a stroke. I could go on and on. The league hated Glanville. Maybe one day the robo umps can decide to call it fair but I won't be surprised if they are owned by the Yankees.
