really good listen, recommend it highly: https://www.theringer.com/2021/9/15...ors-the-aaron-gordon-extension-and-a-wos-rant Good points by the entire panel. interesting I’d say they value our guys higher than the crowd here at CF. Wall was even called a "star", which many here don’t agree with. as a bonus, the Kukoc rant was sublime
Will check if out, thanks for the rec. my basketball podcast recently has been Road Trippin with RJ Jefferson and Channing Frye. I’m not as gung-ho on trading EG as most on here…he’s a formidable vet who still has plus value…EG has value for title contenders and to a young rebuilding team like HOU honestly, I don’t think we should trade him for peanuts like PJ.
Walls persona is a star but his current talent level is mediocre backup PG, and his contract is holy shet
Hrm - what kind of deal did you think you would get for PJ? We traded him for a first rounder** and a veteran point guard to mentor KPJ. Worth noting that PJ walked on the Bucks. What else did you think we might possibly get for an expiring contract? We did a solid by PJ in sending him to a desirable location (and he won a ring - well done). He could have just sat out or taken a buyout... I'd take a pick for EGo all day.. **worth noting that the first rounder we got was used to draft Josh Christopher, who may well have been available in the 2nd round at the very spot we traded away from**
This is the only trade they brought up Clippers Wall to Clippers Ibaka Kennard Bledsoe to Rockets I'd be cool with that if we can maybe reroute Kennard and Ibaka to other teams for picks then maybe buy out Bledsoe. Outside of that they were just talking about buyout options. They were mostly positive about Wall's ability but couldn't come up with any realistic trades cause of the contract. 40M is more than a third of the salary cap. Sure, they were high on his value as a player on a minimum deal but at that number there might not be a deal out there.
