This is unconfirmed, but i just spoke with a friend in NYC who is also from Clear Lake like myself. NY Daily News and NY Times are reporting the Knicks are looking at Mo Taylor if they can make a sign and trade. I'm gonna try and get some links. ------------------
The Knicks need rebounding, not a softee. If we trade Houston for a softee, I will hire a hitman to kill Layden. Oh yeah, and yet another plot twist in the "I Hope Layden Dies" Saga. [This message has been edited by NYKRule (edited June 29, 2001).]
They'll run into the same problems they do with Webber... the only people we could use in a sign and trade are Sprewell and Camby, and I highly doubt they go anywhere. Mo will stay, he likes the Rockets, they like him, and he is a great chemistry fit. ------------------ EDDIE, EDDIE, EDDIE!!! Draftsource.net-- the premier source for draft info. I predict Mo will be inked to a contract within the first to days he is eligible to sign. I bet the Rockets are already talking to him about it. ------------------
I agree, if possible signing is this Sunday, he will be inked by next. ------------------ Houston Rockets...Unbeatable Akeem Olajuwon
Hayes, He's a Knick fan. He wouldn't know better, since he doesn't watch our team too much. ------------------ EDDIE, EDDIE, EDDIE!!! Draftsource.net-- the premier source for draft info. Profiles, rankings, mock drafts, and more! The Mo Taylor Fan Site
Hey,I know this might be unpopular, but if we have a chance to get Houston,I would say adios to Cat(regardless of his relationship with Steve. That guy has the sweetest stroke in the league(whether it's off the dribble or spotting up)...GREAT PLAYER! zone buster, cool as a cucumber on and off the court...plays in control ------------------ Everybody has a little bit of Watergate in em - Billy Graham
I'd rather have a 70 game a year playing Camby then Mo Taylor, that's for sure. Don't try and tell me Mo Taylor is as good as Houston, Sprewell, or Camby. They are all way better than him. That's why there won't be a trade. Thomas is about what he's worth in my mind. ------------------
Hypothetically speaking, Mo & Cat for Camby & Houston doesn't really sound too shabby. ------------------ Founding Father of the Refs Suck Club
I rather have cat at 36 mill than Houston at 112 Mill or whatever the number be.. they post almost the same numbers... ------------------ David Wood and Tree Rollins was the best duo in the NBA!
Personally I would not trade Cat or Mo for anyone on the Nicks team. But thats just my oppinion ------------------
Crash, I haven't been able to get back in and edit so I'll just respond. I thought about it after I wrote that and wondered.....Is it possible that Mobes would come off the bench again?..I like the idea of dealing Taylor for Houston though. Toast, assuming Dream is gone,I'd do that yesterday,if the salaries worked well under the cap. ------------------ Everybody has a little bit of Watergate in em - Billy Graham [This message has been edited by hardwood (edited June 29, 2001).]
Why do people want Allan Houston? He doesn't fit here. His game isn't suited to be a SF, and we wouldn't have a PF. Griffin doesn't have the size or maturity to be a consistent PF, especially in the West! Mo Taylor is very underrated, and he fits us to a tee! With Mo Taylor and Eddie Griffin we can operated without a dominate rebounder. Teams like the Lakers (their first championship), and the Rockets '95 championship team and the Bulls championship teams didn't have a bunch of rebounders. They had one solid rebounder, like Rodman, or Shaq, or Dream. Griffin and Mo can combine to give us 14 to 15 rebounds a game, and our backcourt can push that up even higher! ------------------ "Win if you can, lose if you must but always cheat!" - Jesse Ventura
The only two players the Knicks would want (theoritically) on your team is Francis and *snicker* JASON COLLIER. They just love those big white centers. Taylor isn't worth an all-star, no matter how bad you would like to think so. He gets 13.3 ppg and 5.3 rpg in 28.6 minutes (when starting at F). Kurt Thomas gets better numbers than that, 13.8 ppg and 8.3 rpg in 31.1 minutes(when starting at F). Also, KT's #'s drop by about a point when he has to start at C, which Taylor would have to do from time to time. Taylor's #'s drop a lot more when he starts at C. You guys overrate Mobley a little too much. Sure he is a good player, but Allan Houston has a MUCH better jumper than him. No argument there. Sprewell is the same as Mobley (just way better on D and a better decision maker). The Knicks will be the Eastern Conference champs if they get Webber, even with Chenowith at center!! My point-Thomas is better than Taylor for the Knicks and he would probably be better for the Rockets, too. ------------------
I know this has almost no chance, and I don't know if it is even possible with the CBA but.... Is there any chance of us moving a package of players consisting of some combo of the following: a resigned Mo KT Walt a resigned shandon Cato langhi (even though I am a fan of keeping him) for camby and others? I would love to have a lineup of stevie Mobley Morris Griffin Camby ------------------
I think you underestimate Cats jumper. And he gets to the line a lot more than Houston and is a much better rebounder. ------------------
