I don’t think Harrisnis a worse contract than Wall. I mean on face value it’s longer clearly. But just one year and Walls is more per year… and… Harris is actually good. Not as good as his contract but 20/7/3.5 shooting 40% from three with very solid Ortg and Drtg.

certainly some of that is a product of team. Rockets sucked around Wall. 76ers we’re great around Harris. But those two guys are part of it.

it’s fun to think Wall had a solid bounce back season. But mainly he just was able to play some games. Then with high usage and low efficiency he put up some counting stats but had horrible offensive and defensive ratings, didn’t really mesh with anyone else that well, etc. he was not good.

Of course there’s always a sell early possibility. He could improve this year.

Counterpoint... 76ers may try to stack draft capital to go after Lillard if Blazers season does not start well

    But I do agree

My version of the Simmons trade:

To Houston Simmons , three unprotected picks , 4 unprotected pick swaps.

To Philly a half eaten bag of stale dorito's and the backwash from one of last nights beers , ashes included.

    Houston out : Patrick Fertitta
    Houston in : Jerry West

    Clippers out : Jerry West
    Clippers in : Patrick Fertitta

    Clippers get a whipping boy
Houston gets one of the greatest basketball minds ever.

What do you guys think of Kevin Huerter?

Atl has extended multiple players but not Huerter.

I dont know his value he is a good 3pt shooter and defense has been improving at 23 yr old could be a good addition here.

Maybe a House for Huerter swap salaries work. Throw in a 2nd heavily protected 1st from Hou?

Actually he's already a good defender and it's his 3pt shot that's improving.

They're very high on him, even if they don't extend they would get more than a mediocre pick for him.

You have to consider that Hawks have no reason to trade, they can keep him and match whatever offer the market makes for him. If the offer is big, he probably got a lot better and they have their main guys locked up already long term. Smart of them to wait and match rather than extend imo.

Yeah i think hes their long term answer at the 2. Just so happens that Bogi right now is juuust a bit better. I wouldnt be surprised if they switch roles sooner rather than later.

So we send out Patrick to the Clippers for West, and the Clippers send Patrick straight back to Houston??

(Just trying to understand the moving parts in your trade...)

I don’t think he is being metaphorical.

The Clippers will trade West to be in the presence of Patrick for the few moments until they send him back to Houston.

Jerry West’s new position here will be to literally whip Patrick.

PF will sacrifice himself to pay for Houston’s basketball sins.

HOU gets: Ben Simmons, Serge Ibaka
    LAC gets: John Wall
PHI gets: Eric Bledsoe, Luke Kennard, Danuel House

Clippers make their big 3 Wall-George-Kawhi finally. Philly officially moves on from Simmons with some guards who CAN shoot, surrounding Embiid with shooters. Houston gets the rehab project in Ben Simmons and pays off Ibaka's deadweight contract.

I don’t see SAC as a landing point for any PG with Fox at the helm. I don’t think they’re interested in Simmons or Wall.

    Very nice.

You found a way to get Bagley for Wall, House and a 2nd round pick, in a way that looks somewhat pleasing for all teams.

    Nice mahi

    Sixers, Kings
    • Philadelphia receives: John Wall, first-round pick from Houston, first-round pick from Sacramento
    • Houston receives: Buddy Hield, Marvin Bagley III
    • Sacramento receives: Ben Simmons, filler salary from Sixers to make the money work
    Yep!

I see Wall having value in a Ben Simmons trade for Minnesota. Minnesota doesn't want to give up any of their core and would prefer to deal picks and role players for Simmons... This works:

    To 76ers:
    John Wall
    Danuel House
    (3) #1 picks from Timberwolves
    (3) #2 picks from Rockets

    To Timberwolves:
    Ben Simmons
    Shake Milton
    Tyrese Maxey

    To Rockets:
    Malik Beasley (2 years)
    Patrick Beverley (1 year)
    Taurean Prince (1 year)
    Seth Curry (2 years)

Rockets take back expiring contracts or 2 year deals so no future cap space is lost. Sixers get someone to run point with Danny Green in backcourt and Thybulle/House off the bench. Timberwolves get their guy while keeping Edwards / Towns / Russell.

The #2 picks the Rockets lose are easily replaceable dealing Beverley/Prince/Curry/Beasley to new destinations...

The trick would be the roster spots... this would leave:

    Eric Gordon
    Christian Wood
    Jalen Green
    Daniel Theis
    DJ Augustin
    David Nwaba
    Alperen Sengun
    Usman Garuba
    Josh Christopher
    Kevin Porter Jr
    Khyri Thomas
    Kenyon Martin
    Jae'Sean Tate

This is before Exum/Brooks... Ideally you flip veterans prior so you don't have to cut guys but you may want to hold onto some expiring for the deadline to deal.

I would cut Thomas and buy out Augustin. That gives you 4 roster spots. I would tell Exum to sit tight until another move or two could be made.

The other option would be to include Augustin in an Eric Gordon move where you are dealing both but only taking back 1 player.

I think they could get a low #1 ultimately for Beverley and Prince... maybe a #2 for Curry. The trick will be what salary comes back...
