So are you saying we should have stayed there forever? If not, how long? What could we have done differently over the last 20 years to make it so the Taliban didn't take over. I would love to hear your thoughts.

I wonder what Greenwald's take on this is also? It would be a key insight on whether he has turned heel on going after the right wing grift rather than standing by his former principles of being so damn aggressive about ending forever wars. I would assume Greenwald would be praising Biden to the moon over this.

We invested 20 years and Billions of dollars and most importantly the lives of our service men and women.......if they cant stand up for their people by then.....hate to say but it good luck, we tried. Could we have done better in the actual pull out.... absolutely, but at the end of the day the Taliban were taking over no matter what

Exactly. It should have been less than 5 years....but glad we are finally out and we had a President with the courage to do the RIGHT thing whether or not it was popular....even though it is popular in the end.

No we didn’t “invest” any of that. That’s what people like you don’t get, it was a sham and **** effort at best with 90% of funds siphoned back. Our last act was to kill 7 kids and an aid worker once again in a retaliatory fire back to show we did something. Of course dukbfuks like @DaDakota are going to say “they need to stand up for themselves”

we screwed them with a wasteland, hundreds of thousands of dead civilians, displaced individuals and dead children

    Horseshit.....

We toppled an oppressive government trained over 300k of their people with weapons - and when we decided to pull out they laid down their weapons and refused to fight.

The problem is to them, it was just a PAID job, funny how we are willing to have HUGE civil/military programs in foreign countries and pay them yet we can't get infrastructure done here in our own.

The Afghan people have been tribal for centuries, their central government is not well structured, it will continue to be that way, the people will need to suffer until they decide for themselves they have had enough and fight for their own country.

We tried to force democracy on them, they didn't want it.

And YES, it was also a MASSIVE GRIFT for defense contractors......that is how the USA works - we are a country that is run by GREED and PAY OFFS......we are falling.

I mean the fear that the GOP uses to control their ignorant base.

And before the BUTTHURT brigade comes out.

"Education. Democrats lead by 22 points (57%-35%) in leaned party identification among adults with post-graduate degrees. The Democrats’ edge is narrower among those with college degrees or some post-graduate experience (49%-42%), and those with less education (47%-39%). Across all educational categories, women are more likely than men to affiliate with the Democratic Party or lean Democratic. The Democrats’ advantage is 35 points (64%-29%) among women with post-graduate degrees, but only eight points (50%-42%) among post-grad men"

The Republicans thinking that this is their moment to make Biden's 4 years about this moment just shows they really are stupid and are only lucky that our corrupt system allows for them to be as successful as they are at gaining power.

    They look desperate as hell.

@MojoMan at this point I just assume you’re the artist and while I think the message is off base I give you credit for your artistic ability and your dedication to publish new content with little turn around.
