Each city is different even in the same state

You know Dallas and Houston and Austin are very different. Not a coincident , Austin , a beloved town has a massive increase in homelessness.

California is expensive , the prisons are like in San Quentin . No more Alcatraz .

Different owners. One was federal, the other is state run.

In Minneapolis there are pilot projects now building tiny houses for the homeless in warehouse spaces or defunct big box stores.
This might be a good enough balance in both providing shelter and privacy for homeless people rather than them living in tent encampments.

That’s a needed step but what about getting the mental health and drug problem solved for them ?

that’s a big issue that the rich people don’t want to address and why rampant drug dealing is ignored in certain cities

to be honest, covid ain’t the biggest problem for the homeless compared to fentanyl, meth and heroine

but your city cares more than San Francisco and Oakland for sure

Part of the tiny house villages is that mental health and drug counseling can be provided there.

Can this be replicated in highest real estate markets like New York and San Francisco where there’s no available real estate ? And a city government who cares ?

They have. How long it will stay remains to be seen. But yes, they did clear much of the homeless encampments from Venice.

Body autonomy bro. The left believes in shooting anything up your veins or your arse as long as it makes you feel good. You know, my body, my choice......oh waif, Covid vaccine mandate. Damn, sure is confusing living in America.

maybe @tinman can change the thread title to a more generic San Fran homeless issues title.

Anyway. these interviews are fascinating, he's posted quite a few to twitter

His commentary above this leads me to suspect he's not being completely forthcoming with all the facts.

Book a vacation to the bay and stay in this neighborhood called the ‘tenderloin’
Also wear flip flops and no socks

    @basso
I promise you will have a five star experience

I never said homelessness and drugs were not a problem in San Fran. I just stated I don't think the full story is being presented here. That's often the case with these twitter reports from both the right and the left.

You should interview them yourself if you believe that homeless guy didn’t go to San Francisco for the $500 bucks a month and free needles

watch your step though that’s not dog poo

I am sure there are some percentage of homeless people who do that, just as there are some percentage of welfare recipients who abuse the system. But his interviewing and sharing videos is not a statistical sampling and in no way a scientific study of what is actually happening.
