...all the people worrying about how they are going to rebuild as Jalen Green's career starts to wind down.

Our strategy between 1996 and 2007 was pretty abysmal. The drafting record was incredibly poor (not sure how much we realized this at the time). CD's infatuation with over-the-hill free agents was costly to the team's development. For every minute you have a no-upside player playing, that's a minute you're stealing from another player's development. Picking up JVG who then went after his own retreads and old journeyman players like Weatherspoon, the corpse of Vin Baker, Mike James, the corpse of Bobby Jackson, the corpse of Juwan Howard, etc, didn't help things. The team was hunting for instant gratification and never upside. Every player from those 2000-2005 teams wilted and died like immediately.

It wasn't until we finally put together Lowry, Brooks, Landry, Scola, etc in 2008 that we had some interesting upside role players, but that was quickly imploded when TMac's back and knees gave out and Yao's foot realized he was tall. Morey then struck the goldmine of the century with Harden but then continued to chase high-upside, high risk guys like Lawson, Flynn, Thabeet, Swift, Lin, etc with no respect for the draft or for player development.

When we finally found lightning in a bottle again in 2018 up 3-2 in the WCF, we (Tilman?) did not understand what contributed to that success (high IQ wings, ball-protection, rebounding, extreme possession-efficiency) and continued to make moves that did not contribute to winning or to the future (Knight, Chriss, Ennis, Melton, Westbrook, etc etc.)

People say Rockets fans are very negative but from my perspective it's amazing the regular season success this team has been able to have for the past 30 years with questionable move after questionable move. You can start to understand why people get so intoxicated with a 50 point game by KPJ.

Here's to the future with Ruhfell. Thanks for coming to my Ted talk.

I am always about playing with what you got. If we didn't have JW, Wood, and Ego, I'd understand "tanking." But we do have talent. They were just injured last year.

We are gonna win it allllllll!!! :p

The draft if fun and all, but I think history shows us that when a young player with proven success becomes available, be in a position to pounce.

The trades for Tmac and Harden both came out of nowhere and transformed the team. Don’t fall in love with draft pick potential. Be ready to pass those assets to someone else so they can take the next Pryzbilla or Eduardo Najera.

I certainly have a different feel about our team! I see that we have already build the beginning of a great team. We certainly are NOT on the down side as you put it! Expect great things from our team! You seem to havea very limited feel about our Rockets! Y

Oof Rockets rebuilding from 2021-2040? That means kpj leaves as soon as he is a free agent. Jalen green leaves after contract is over or forces his way out... wood leaves after his contract is over... must really suck working for a Landry's franchise.

My greatest fear (other than falling into a crevice and getting stuck for days) is that Tilman will be upset with a losing team and push to find ways to win more.

He needs to be patient. We don't need expensive role players to help us win. Let the young guys suck and let us lose for now.
