Lovie Smith HATES the media, and he lies consistently to the media.... don't take anything he says seriously. In fairness to Lovie, what is he supposed to say?
Depending on the 2023 pick I'd say this is a win-win trade. Nick is swinging, letting the league know if he's not going to be cheap or take inferior compensation for Roby, they better come correct for Deshaun
If the goal is to suck this year, then getting a third round pick for a good player works for me. This should make us worse this year, but maybe better at some point in the future. Now we just need to keep our eye on the prize and lose to a bad Jacksonville team.

Good deal for both teams really. The Saints are trying to win now and needed a corner but had limited finances.... the Saints got a starting quality CB veteran. The Texans need draft capital and need to move veterans that may win games that cost the team draft positioning. A third rounder is about right..... would love a 2nd rounder but was expecting a 4th rounder.... Now the Texans need to just draft wisely.
Hopefully Caserio is better at using those 3rd rounders. Its been a travesty to look at the list of guys we've taken in that round.
