Texans brass be like: It's a trade per se but don't think of it as trade where you get something in return. It's a process.
It'll probably end up being something like their 3rd for our 4th and Roby. Then they end up with one of the best records next year, we end with one of the worst and it ends up being nothing more than a 7-8 slot improvement on a pick. Like the P.J. Tucker trade! I'll be glass half-full guy though until the results are actually in. C'mon Nick! Work some magic! 3rd and a 6th!
The only thing the Texans have going for them is there offensive line. Trading Tunsil would be insane. Every other position is fair game.
What makes you soo confident? We won a whopping 4 games last year and that's with Deshaun leading the league in passing, from that team you could say we lost our 4 best players and didn't replace them with anything. I'm hoping for 0-17. It's stupid for us not to get the number 1 pick next year.
Ill take this bet but loser has to donate 50 to clutchfans. however if they decide to play Deshaun at all this season bets off. If Deshaun plays 0 games the Texans will go 0-17 easily.
Y'all should throw out the Watson part and you pick which set of games will provide their first win. 1-4 5-8 9-12 13-17 If they go winless Rhu525 wins the bet. If their first win is in your game range, you win the bet. If their first win is outside your game range, it's a push.
I'll take that bet, with the caveat that if the Texans win their first game before Watson starts a game for Houston, I win the bet. If they go winless (note the important word) you win the bet. If they win their first game during or after Watson starts for Houston, it's a push, regardless of who QB'd the victory.
The Texans are saving 20 million or so in actual cash, so unless they give the Saints some money, don't get your hopes up.
Lol arguing over if we go 0-17 or not Even if Watson comes back it's not gonna change our team standing as a dumpster fire franchise. Might as well do something productive these upcoming Sundays than watch sht games.
So what! That SHOULD mean absolutely nothing to us! We're not in any real cap problems. We don't have any great free-agent-to-be's we need to lock up long term. We're not gonna go crazy signing other teams fa this year or probably next year either. A bit of cap savings should have little to NO bearing whatsoever in a trade from our position! We're giving them a quality player with a fair contract and that has value, or at least it should! If they only get a 5th or 6th (even 4th really) this will have been a horrible trade from our perspective leverage-wise. And with the way Caserio has downplayed the value of late round picks if that's all he gets back for one of our best players I hope the media will call him out on it or at least bring it up! But after seeing the meager haul he was able to get for Cobb from the packers, when we had pretty much all of the leverage knowing that they HAD to get Cobb back to keep Rogers there I'm not getting my hopes up AT ALL! But I won't be calling it a good or even decent trade after it happens either.
So after trading Roby followed by Tunsil, then Deshaun next off season, cutting Murray, Ingraham, Merciless and Cannon , you'll have around $100 million in cap space to go find more 30 year old cannon fodder for competition. I left David Johnson on the team because Texan. Free agents to look at. Stephen Gilmore, Stephen Mccourty, Trenton Brown, JC Jackson. Ted Karras(you can play him at c,g,rg),How about some James White? Si? Gunner Olszeweski? That's a football player name! You can sign this entire crop of free agents.
No, cause we have 16 more weeks to go! I'm hoping for the #1 Draft Pick and Nick is off to a good start by trading Roby
They should take a page from the Astros and cut/trade all decent players on the team. Go in full tank mode for about 3-4 years while you draft and develop and good young core. Once that core is in place sign some vet free agents to fill in the gaps.
