For sci-fi fans if you've never heard of Space 1999 or just never seen it highly recommend it. It was a show very far ahead of it's time and YouTube has some complete episodes online.

The premiere episode shows how to not just change the Moon's orbit but send it out of the Solar System. I don't want to give any spoilers or give Gohmert ideas, (it involves a lot of nuclear waste.)

Reality is that we're going to lose the moon one day.

The sun will likely be a red giant by the time that happens and we will be no more unless we are the aliens piloting all the objects from UFO sightings.

According to current physics we've already lost most of the galaxies in the universe as the expansion of space has taken beyond reach of us ever hoping to reach them and in the future they won't even be detectable.

i loved this show but just finally realized that a huge explosion on the far side would have just pushed the moon toward Earth. :D

    Great catch!

Like Star Wars, Star Trek and a lot of other Sci Fi never let logic get in the way of a good plot point..

The engineer says it can't be solved until the captain puts on big brain pants to suggest something that helps them breakthrough the tough problem.

    How long will it take...10hrs?

    You have four.

    Lord, help us all.

While getting him out of Congress is a good thing, he can't do near as much damage as he could as Texas AG. Granted, it's a VERY crowded field running against Paxton in the primary and this human equivalent of gas station sushi has very little chance, IMO, it's still a frightening thought.

He doesn't have to step down from his seat in Congress to run, correct?
