    Black Widow - 6.5/10

Started off great but kind of fell off and dragged during the middle of the movie.

    Zandalee (1991)

Currently on Netflix and starring Nicolas Cage, Judge Reinhold, and Erika Anderson. With Joe Pantoliano, Marisa Tomei, Steve Buscemi, Viveca Lindfors, and Aaron Neville in supporting roles, among others.

“Bored with her marriage to burnt out poet turned corporate executive Thierry, Zandalee falls prey to an old friend of her husband, the manipulative and egotistical Johnny and becomes enmeshed in a sensual, passionate and destructive affair. But it isn't only the flames of their erotic affair that are fanned by the steamy heat of the deep New Orleans nights; hatred, desire and revenge stalk the lovers' with a relentless precision, and for Zandalee… “

Rotten Tomatoes gives it 33%, a score remarkable for it’s accuracy. If you enjoy films set in New Orleans before the Flood, you’ll enjoy that aspect of Zandalee. Watching Ms. Anderson prancing around completely naked, as she does at the beginning (film school: “Students, here’s a good example of ‘prancing.’ Ms. Anderson may be challenged as an actress, but she can prance around a room naked with the best of them.”), gives one hope that this is a film worth watching.

After all, with a cast this good, apart from the unknown Ms. Anderson, surely a film that takes place in the seedier side of the Quarter has a lot going for it. While there are moments in Zandalee I found enjoyable, this is one of those times when the sum of the parts is less than the whole. Reinhold wouldn’t know an authentic accent if it bit him, at least not here. Cage is clearly stoned out of his gourd the entire time, but his acting borders on decent. He pulls off the love scenes with panache, helped by the enthusiasm of the lovely Ms. Anderson.

Don’t watch the short trailer, which shows far too much. If you like New Orleans, hold your nose and dive in.

Haven’t you heard? Apparently, he wasn’t that good. ;) Neil admitted he had no natural talent to play drums. He just worked at it harder than most anyone else.

He was a good drummer. Personally though in my opinion the band he was in mostly (and i mean the vast majority) sucked, unfortunately.

I just finished watching Snake Eyes and I give it a 3...

I hate these directors and writers who try to rewrite the origin...

been watching this NetFlix international thriller / drama, "Hit & Run".

the story begins in Tel Aviv, then travels to NYC.
as this 9-episode show develops, the Mossad and the CIA are woven into the story.

i like it, binge watched all the espisodes over the week end

If you like intelligent thrillers, well directed, check out The Take (2016) on Netflix. It stars Idris Elba and Richard Madden (some might recall him playing Ned Stark's oldest son on Game of Thrones). I think the title was Bastille Day in Europe. I watched it a few years ago and decided to watch it again last night with my significant other. She loved it!

The Take showed that Idris would have made a great Bond...

He was fantastic in The Take, no question about it. Yes, he would have.

    Jungle Cruise - D+

Main 3 stars had good chemistry but felt like I was watching a knock off of Jumanji/National Treasure. Probably wouldn't have watched it if it wasn't for Emily Blunt.

If you're into high body counts and well choreographed fight scenes I think you'll like this one.
