Generic fantasy story. Farm boy is actually the chosen one; destined to fight the great evil. I hate the CW feel of these trailers. Looks bad.
I read the entire series and while entertaining it was pretty generic. Farm boy nobody is actually a somebody whose childhood friends join in an epic quest to prove worth to mysterious warrior group and then lead them to help beat evil. That’s basically the script for the fantasy genre from Star Wars, LOTR, Dune, to Harry Potter. The best books were when Sanderson took over and there was a ton of action instead of page after page of descriptions of how tight the bust was on an Aes Sedai’s dress and how angry her gaze could be.
oh I know. I have read several different fantasy series (only about 6 books into this one) I thought it was much more than that though and was a great series. Many of them start out very similar. I still think it’s rather disingenuous to say simply this is a generic story. Just my little opinion. How many hours of would you estimate to read that entire series?
Geez I couldn’t say about half way through the plot just slows to a crawl. I did really enjoy it but I wouldn’t reread it as I have with say ASOIAF. The last couple of books are really, really good though. I am looking forward to watching it though. There are so many characters they could turn it into a GOT length series that goes on for years.
People sleep on legend of the seeker! I had a big crush on brunette full face Bridget Reagan. She lost all the fat in her face now and lip fillers.
