UCF is a shoe in at this point imo.. 61k undergrads 70k total New football and basketball facilities are being constructed if I’m not mistaken Cincy comes into the season at #8. Good time for their program to be good Memphis hasn’t been mentioned but don’t they have FedEx money behind them potentially.. they would need new facilities
Nah. He's still basically involved in just about everything. As annoying as he is we are definitely better off with him. Tilman giveth and Tilman taketh away.
A&M has stayed out of college football relevancy? Did TAMU not just finish 5th last year? Or was it 4th? Was Baylor even ranked? Didn't TAMU have a Heisman more recently than Baylor? Didn't they beat an OU team Baylor lost to that same year? Did TAMU not land one of the biggest coaches in the sport? If you want to say they're not relevant I am fine with it actually, whatever, but you cant make that statement and also say Baylor is somehow relevant. Good for Baylor though - Rhule was legit - it was a fun run ride. I enjoyed watching (the 3 or 4 good opponents they played a year). Anyways - personal preference - but the logic that being in a shitty conference means an easier path to a mere CHANCE at playoffs does not get my tail wagging. At all. It's a defeatist mentality and it makes the season less enjoyable to me personally. I was already in the Big 12. Back when it actually had teams in it. It's not as enjoyable as being in the SEC. I don't want an easier path at the expense of competitive games. I'd rather play LSU, Auburn, Alabama while also scheduling teams like Clemson than forfeit all of that magic for an easy schedule. You're either good enough or you're not. I'd rather die standing than live on my knees.
Yeah I don't remember why it cracked me up either. Maybe because you went from living in Alabama's neighborhood to making comparisons with Baylor?
Someone wrote a column somewhere i read about adding enough teams to go to 16. I'd be ok with it... pick up the best of the non power 5 and beat other conferences to them... I'm fine with: UH BYU UCF Cincinnati I think they mentioned Boise State and San Diego state... i could see Boise if BYU is in but San Diego seems a little isolated in Pac 12 country... BYU and UCF would soften a lot of the money issues... With enough time i could see that pass up the pac 12 or acc... probably not Big 10 or SEC...
16 teams makes the most sense now imo. It would create a huge gap in power 5 and group of 5. Thats the best bet for Big 12. Maybe less money right now but the best long term investment. BYU, Cincy, Houston, UCF are obvious adds. Then Boise, Memphis, Colorado State. last spot, you have some options
'hey i like this job cause i get millions of bucks, but we need to get a bunch of teams to join cause Texas and OU brought all the cheese'
