Lord, another Harden de-rail. Will you guys ever get over it and concentrate on the threads that are about the Rockets? I count at least five threads that have nothing to do with Harden, that are now Harden only. Would love to see the mods start doing something about this.

A professional with guaranteed contract refusing to show up for work is such a cringe but with the current system, can't be too mad at a player trying to use his leverage. Why can't NBA have system like international soccer and have a transfer fee? That way, a team can be satisfied with the money and player can always refuse to be traded. Team still has the burden of honoring a contract if they make a terrible one but we can at least avoid (or minimize) this awkward situation of a player refusing to show up for work

I never had an opinion bc I didn’t feel informed enough, but it seemed like the real question was always could we have immediately flipped Simmons for something, and that haul would result in a better package than what the Nets was offered.

Holding onto him certainly would have been an unmitigated disaster. It sure is for philly.
