I was playing basketball at the YMCA during lunch and a fellow Rocket fan told me about it. I waited a while and decided to sign up and post. Dang...that was THOUSANDS of posts ago..... DD
Fall of 1996, after the Barkley trade. OnHoops had the nerve to write that the Rockets would win less than 76 games, and I've been loving this place since then. Didn't look at the BBS much until right before the Lockout season started, didn't register until late 2000, lost my password, and registered again the next summer.
The stuff over on our site is much worse than the stuff here. At least it was the last time I could stand to look.
I was doing an amateurish website called The Rocket Zone back in 95/96 and found ClutchCity online. Clutch and I exchanged a few emails and when the Zone finally fell victim to my abject laziness, I started writing for Clutch. The rest is semi-history.
i remember after a rocket game that we loss, i searched on google and typed "rockets suck" and i somehow came across clutchbss.
I found this board in 1999 when I decided to look and see if there were any other fan forums as good as the Kings forum I post at. I lurked here for almost three years, and would still be lurking if Clutch hadn't put the board on lockdown after you guys got Yao, so I registered so that I could keep reading.
Nah, you probably weren't that bad, but my impression was that you were that bad. Man, it's weird how high the traffic is now. At 4am it can be real slow... it might be 5 minutes before someone posts. I remember when it was a lot different. I guess that's an understatement!
