I gotta say the picture quality is really good on the U6G. It's better than the previous TVs I've had. Some reviews knock it for not having the smoothing feature, but I hate that soap opera effect and disable it.

I have had a U6G since May. Great TV for those on a budget.

HDDVD vs Bluray. In the end, it didn't matter. Streaming kicks both butts.

OLED vs non-OLED. They each have their market and aren't exclusive. I have both. Have plasma too. The lighting material doesn't really matter and will continuously change and improve.

Spoken like someone who hasn't experienced a 4K HDR Bluray on an OLED with Dolby Atmos surround sound.

And with that said, plasma STILL, to THIS DAY, can do a few things better than OLED IMO.

the Higher Bit rate of the 4K Blurays destroys streaming. It's basic math.

Also, it's basic math the OLEDs > LED.

I'm speaking from a MKT perspective. Maybe 10% are hardcore videophiler like you. 90% don't care or know enough to care.

    Still love my plasma.

Yeah, this is the time of year I've been waiting for, but I decided to pass on the LG and Sony 65" OLED drops in price the past couple of weeks, but if they don't drop any more, I'm cool with it. I can wait. But $1799 for the 65" OLEDs from Sony and LG has been pretty common with discounts on streaming packages and warranties from Costco as well. If they drop even more for BF, then... damn!

I think I saw electronic express on eBay has a 15 percent off on the a80j which makes it around $1600 total. I want to get the 77 inch though.
