[Movie] Disney's Cruella

    Disney Pictures has released the first trailer for “Cruella,” their new live-action take on “101 Dalmatians” with this one serving as a prequel and origin story for villainess Cruella de Vil (Emma Stone).

    Set in 1970s London, young fashion designer Estella de Vil becomes obsessed with dogs’ skins, especially Dalmatians, until she eventually becomes a ruthless and terrifying legend known as Cruella.

    Emma Thompson co-stars as the Baroness, the head of a prestigious fashion house who hires Estella. Joel Fry and Paul Walter Hauser play Jasper and Horace Badun – Cruella’s loyal sidekicks.

    Emily Beecham, Mark Strong, Kirby Howell-Baptiste and Jamie Demetriou co-star. Craig Gillespie (“I, Tonya”) directs the film which will open in cinemas on May 28th.

    These live action disney "remakes" have a pretty bad track record, but this one looks pretty good.

    Just watched this with my ten year old daughter and we both loved it. This is a fun movie. The two Emmas we're just fantastic. Would recommend to anyone who has a few hours to fill

    I've been pretty ambivalent about all of Disney's live action remakes, I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this. Worlds better than it deserves to be....
