Found an in-depth, optimistic, Nix breakdown. The Andre Miller thumbnail is a nice touch lol. That was my first comparison after watching this kid. Article structure is kinda weird, but its an interesting read. Apparently Nix bulked up to absorb contact and play in the G-League. And here's a random quote from John Hollinger: Rockets are lacking in floor general, facilitator guards. Would be cool if Nix developed into something like that off the bench. In the meantime, hope he has fun in RGV.
There's zero risk and a ton of upside. Big guard with some hustle that can crash the boards. I like the move.
Bey (and Nix) would be good addition to HOUnds 2nd Unit. Maybe even a Nwaba replacement next season. But they got to earn it in G League first.
5 month anniversary of me posting this What I'm most impressed with is his improved outside shooting and ability to finish at the basket. Like... Not just improved... But they have gone from weaknesses to strengths
Between Porter, Nix and Christopher we have a great pool of PG's for the future. All of them with two way potential.
Incredible compliments from the Viper's coach https://rocketswire.usatoday.com/20...daishen-nix-wins-g-league-player-of-the-week/
100%. That’s a bright spot. So many starting PGs in the NBA are over 30, some way over 30: CP3, Lowry, Conley, CURRY, Westbrook, Jrue, Lillard, Reggie Jackson… There will be a PG shortage in the coming years. We’ve got 3 intriguing prospects for the position.
