Oh I remember getting the space jam cd when leaving the game. Walking down those big sets of stairs. Also remember going to graduations there as a young kid.
1. It's the Summit 2. Disney Ice Capades 3. Rocket games, of course—the ones I attended but also Game 7 against the Knicks 4. Harvey
drank my first beer there during the Supersonics series in 96. Rockets lost, but I won that day. I won. Pilsner Urquell you're my only friend!
I remember driving by, wishing I could afford to go to games. It made me want to own a compaq computer.
Rockets, Globetrotters, Ringling brothers circus,. Parking garage kind of sucked, you had to walk down that weird tunnel to get to the arena and it took forever to get out.
Oh my god. I have so many. 1. going to my first Rockets game in 1984 as an 8 year old. During warm ups I asked my father, "Who is good?" and he pointed at Akeem. He did not lie. He was amazing that night and I have been a dedicated Rockets fan ever since. 2. Nearly 10 years later I was there when the Rockets won game 4 of the Finals to sweep the Magic. I remember I was sitting in one of the back rows of the lower bowl. When Hakeem hit that 3 pointer I jumped up and punched into the air. I hit the ceiling and hurt my hand. No regrets though. 3. I was at the pre-season game when Kelvin Cato had a triple double. We all chanted "Cato! Cato! Cato!" He then got that ridiculous contract that he never came even close to living up to. 4. I was at Steve Francis's first game. I remember turning to my dad and telling him, "Look how he keeps looking at Rudy to make sure he's doing the right thing. This kid is going to be good." He was pretty good but never really developed his game any further than what he showed us that rookie year so I don't think I was all that right. 5. I was at the game where Moochie Norris hit the game winner and jumped up on the table and strutted. Was amazing. 6. Going to see Michael Jordan play and lose to the Rockets. 7. I saw the Beastie Boys there. That ruled.
I used to watch the games on 20 Vision on my tiny 9” TV. American Gladiators or GLOW (Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling) used to come on after the game was over. I remember Gene Peterson used to do Kuppenheimers ads.
