Now that Summer League is over.....who makes the team and the Vipers? Who's gone?

So, at the 4/5 we have Wood, Theis, Garuba, and Sengun, right? It seems like these guys would all stay with the Rockets. At least that would be my guess.

 

Can 2-ways be poached by other teams?

No - that's why they sign 2-ways!
So it is kind of bad for the player in the sense that they may lose the opportunity to take a 10day elsewhere, and prove themselves. But then again, it gives them a higher contract rate than G-League players would otherwise receive, and (in theory) means they are a development player for the team they are 2-way contracted to. (You can only 2-way players with less than 4 years experience, so it is kind of like a lower rookie scale deal)

 

Beginning of the season gonna be weird. They'll be deciding to tank or not and John Wall will be playing exactly the same either way.

15 locked in
2x2-way contracts

All 1st Rd rookies are promised a locked in contract.
So Garuba Sengun Christopher will get a contract.

Brooks needs to be signed (imo)
So most likely Thomas or Augustin will be bought out or there's a trade in the works to make a spot.

That will be our 15.
Our 2 way contracts are open. And players will jump on and off them through the season.

Appears Lamb & Hurt have the inside running on them.

 

Anderson is not eligible to sign a two-way deal. Too many years of service.

I’m guessing they’ll at least give Garuba some extra reps in RGV at some point during the season. The Rockets will use Tate and House at PF some this year, not to mention Martin.

 

Hurt is on a 2 way contract. It would be nice to see Brooks on a guaranteed contract. Augustin seems to a good locker room guy now. He doesn't have any game left. Waive House, if he's continuing to act up.

 

They re also NOT eligible for the playoff roster.

Are we worried about the playoffs?

 

Nope.

But they can be dropped like a hot potato in event of injury or another better player becomes available.

2 ways are huge risks for young players.
