Not many managers are let go after losing the WS in 7 games. ...and SF fans are still pissed at him about how he handled the pitching that series
Lol. You'll white knight shitty managers/coaches until the day you die. Go back to the Texans forum and make your absurd posts there
He's a shitty troll. Don't waste your time other than to make fun of him. He was Bill O'Brien's biggest fan. Check his post history
Dusty is really horrible at in game management. I understand why we hired him last year but he's going to cost us a world series.
Not to pile on, but sometimes I think Dusty is like the villain Terry Silver from Karate Kid III. Pretending to be the manager, but secretly sabotaging the team for John Kreese (Rob Manfred).
Jake Odorizzi sucks. Thats it. Thats my hot take. Running him out there doesnt really give you a chance to win. Javier and Odorizzi should switch roles for a few starts and see how that plays out. These guys better start playing and managing with a sense of urgency. This is getting too close for comfort.
This team, including Dusty, are playing/managing like making the playoffs is a birth right. We've been flat out mediocre for a good while now, have given up a ton of ground to the A's (thank god they're finally playing down to their level), and are at risk to falling into a majorly competitive wild card race. With no true ace on this staff, to simply squander away some of the most winnable games of the season to poor in-game managerial decisions is becoming inexcusable.
Not a fan of Baker's, but there is plenty of blame to be spread around. Odorizzi has looked like dogsh!t since MLB started enforcing the sticky substances. Click should get some credit for Odorizzi's blunders in the 1st 5 innings. Baker's worst pitching decision was leaving Odorizzi in past 5. I really hate the, "Let's try to squeeze one more inning out of the starter, but pull him when he f%^&s up" mentality (i.e., if the decision is to give a pitcher a short leash, the manager has already decided that the pitcher no longer has his best stuff). Baserunning was bad. Relief pitching wasn't good besides Maton 2 outs.
