"Christopher has had a pretty good night" sounds like "Westbrook with another triple double" to me lol P.S. Its not a compliment.
Josh Christopher turned the ball over 7 times tonight, took 19 shots while making 7, and only had 2 assists. Someone needs to sit him down and talk to him about sharing the ball. Perhaps a G-League coach can do this.
man its the toughest thing in the world when you have to fight the opposing team AND your teammates, because thats how it is when half the roster is selfish and low iq players whose only play is brick 3 over the stretched hands of defenders I admire sengod for hustling till the end all they know is how to pose for insta and twitter photos but how to hoope they know not
I heard the team say “you will be iso-ed by us” as they passed by Sengun. Internal friction is building up.
Takeaways: IF (and that's a big one) Jaygup stops shooting 3s and instead trys to get others involved and takes good midrange shots, he will look VERY good. Alpi is missing Jalen Greens gravity out there. The opposing team knows that he is the only one that's worth their attention. Needs work on his conditioning, looks gassed very often if the pace is high. Garuba is raw as hell. I think he more than anyone else, needs good players around him to make him look good. He's not built for the shitshow that is SL. Jalen Green's impact goes way beyond his actual points. This team looks nothing alike the team that won the first 2 games. The way the defense shifts 99% of their attention to stop him going off is making everyone around him better by making their job easier. Overall, nothing changed for me. Quite the terrible game to watch tbh.
So my interview question for coach Weaver, "so coach, I know you're glad that we got through the game without any injuries. Can you talk with me about Sengun? Tonight, the Rockets had no Jalen Green, and the big man only got up 10 total shots (but only 8 before the last 2 minutes). He seems to have a nose for the ball and is always in the right place. Is there anything the team can do in its game planning to see if you can help him get a few more looks?
Matthew Hurt a solid +2. Lamb was 5-6 3's to start and 0-5 the rest of the way. Josh Christopher got 2 assists. Lies.
He's also one of the few (besides Jaygup and Garuba) that's hustling on defense and fighting for rebounds. He's gassed because his teammates keeps letting their man blow by them and ask him to bail them out
Y'all seriously judging a bench coach based on summer league players? That's like ... worse than judging players on summer league play.
