Let Şengün develop without pressure. Moderate your expectations of him, he has a long way to go.

He just doesn’t seem or play like he’s 6’10’. He is talented, but feels like he plays at a 6’8” level. Definitely not NBA center material. Feel like he could be a perfect fit playing next to CWood in the PF position.

Does anyone else see a little bit of Dirk to his game? I don't think he'll be as good as Dirk, but I think he can be a tier below, with the same skill set.

I think this is because he doesn't jump very high. Look at a guy like Montrezl Harrel, he's only like 6'7-6'8 but that dude plays above the rim because he can easily jump and get above the rim in traffic and off the dribble. This isn't about your measured standing vertical, it's about how high you jump in the flow of the game, when you go up to shoot the ball. Sengun "plays small" right now because he gets very little elevation after he makes his moves, within the flow of the game. He plays below the rim. He has great footwork, puts guys in the popcorn machine, and then blows the layup or gets blocked because he still shoots from such a low point. This is something he can definitely improve, and I hope he does, because if he could easily dunk the ball off a small hop after he embarrasses defenders the way he consistently does, you're turning that into a 100% shot. It would be huge for him.

That’s what he does/did in the Turkish league. He has the ability, needs to adjust to NBA game speed and NBA level athletes.

His ceiling is the roof. His hustle is elite, his post moves are elite. His passing is elite. His rebounding is elite. Very excited to see him develop. Guy obviously doesn’t back down from any challenge. He has alpha mentality and PJ’s hustle. So fun to watch. Hope he is a big part of the rotation and develops a 3 shot.

Yeah, his conditioning seemed pretty bad in the summer league, looked like he got really tired really fast, and I'm sure that contributes. I think the NBA pace was giving him some problems.

Yeah I think that will be the key to his success. NBA level strength and conditioning program.

yea 6th takes a winning team but Love the Sabonis and Horford comparasions.

For a few reasons, can't see him like jokic embiid in just that will our team run everything through them. But when he was in the game in the sL, he was a problem and a headache with his skill, awareness, and you literally did not know what he would do. If he gets more comfrotable with his outside shot then things will be scary.

    @saleem
Yea I'm seeing more versatility than okur. Okur seemed to be mainly a shooter on offense, a post/fade game.

This kid is starting at the top of the key, behind the back dribble, spin contested lay up .
To be that comfortable in your handles/agression with no space at his size really impresses me

has me leaning towards maybe pau gasol
or some sort of Nurkic-Gasol/sabonis hybrid.

Last years finals mvp was a pick in the teens too, you never know.

The Cowens comp is a good starting point. It's pretty clear that Sengun will end up at the middle point between Cowens and Bird. He won't quite be Top 10 All-Time, especially with his teammate Green taking one of those spots, but he'll be close. I just worry that he won't get the recognition he deserves playing next to Green and two HOFers/regular All-NBA Defensive first-teamers in Christopher and Garuba.

The correct answer is Jokic with elite defense.

Get in line for the Kool Aid!

now this is the 99 legacy, great contribution and one i didn't see coming.
In any case, we all had an obvious excitement for green that is due
Sengun has been another stone surprise and like Tate, KMJ I can see him being an easy fan favorite. I'm all eyes anytime he is in the game.
I see Cowen for the reasons you mentoined and keep mixing in a little Pau whose tall, but not quick/athletic, but skileld enough in his handle and awareness he can jut do so many things. Enjoy the tools Silas!
