Fury Road was so good my wife wanted to see it a second time in the theaters. And my wife never wants to see a movie again in the theater. Still can't believe the movie only made $130,000,000 or so in U.S. cinemas. Not that these things matter when you have coronavirus, climate change, poverty, and so on. I just thought audiences were really missing out. The "pole dudes" doing a slow-mo arc in front of the exploding tanker(s).....yeah, great stuff.
I loved Theron in Fury Road and very much looking forward to seeing her again in a future MM movie, if that happens. But I totally agree with the director on not using the de-aging technology. It looks TERRIBLE every time and completely takes me out of a movie. On top of that, it seems to really deaden the facial expressions of whatever actor/actress it is being used on, and makes them look like a ridiculous wooden actor that is bad at their job. It is the right decision for this Furiosa movie.
Although I think Anya Taylor-Joy is a fine actress, I have a hard time with her hammerhead-shark eyes. Also, although Fury Road is one of my fav movies of all time, I never felt like I would be interested in a Furiosa movie. The character was trying to draw too much sappy sympathy for her backstory. That being said, and above all else, I trust George Miller to make a great movie, especially if he has the budget & crew, and if the movie studio doesn't get in the way. I hope Hemsworth is a villain. That'd be cool.
Agree with all of this completely. If anyone can make ATJ fit into the Mad Max universe, it will be George Miller.
I don't have a problem with her eyes. Or other parts of her, certainly. George Miller will make it work. He must. He will!

Wow, that's a heel turn for you -- lovable, fat Thor to a Mad Max universe villain. Hope he's up to the task. Will he be more like Toecutter and Imortan Joe, or more like Tina Turner?
It's the eyes that I love the most, it's funny what turns people off and what attracts them. Don't really see her as a bad ass in the Furiosa mode, but it will probably be an origin story.
I always thought it would be funny to have a lifesized Mohawk Guy dummy I could put on the roof or hood of my car.
It was an underwhelming movie but Hemsworth did a pretty good job playing the bad (psycho) guy in Bat Times at the El Royale. I'm psyched about this movie moreso now.
If CF were to buy a Mad Max vehicle, would it be a consensus pick of the doof wagon? That way we could get fatty to sing us all his tunes. He wouldnt have to sideline anymore and could just be the full time main attraction.
These were my exact thoughts, and I was excited about that movie and was disappointed. The best part, for me, was Jon Hamm, and him declaring that "you need to respect my accoutre mange"
