Our next major target should be a young/long/athletic big forward? Who do you want?

Kai has been having a rough SL just by glancing at the stat sheet. Jericho Sims seems to be more impactful and efficient for the Knicks through these few meaningless games. Just an observation.

Thinking of him strictly as a role player.

Switch D, disruptor, lob threat and rim runner.

    And he can shoot 3ball.

    Essentially a 6'11 garbage man.

Hopefully. It just reminds me of how ridiculous some of Brown's film was. NBA Jam type stuff. Collins has that same level of athleticism with more length it appears.

Is it too late to still get Jalen Johnson? He would have finished out our 2021 starting-line-up draft haul. :)

Fired-up over the young guys. Great job, RAF! I can’t wait to see Jaygup, JG and KMJ on the floor together next year. Should be a lot of fun. I’d turn them loose to play out and as they learn as teenagers, add Banchero (or Holmgren) next year. We will be too good for Wembanyama the next year. Passing ships in the night as we go #DYNASTYmode.

Jalen Smith is apparently being shopped.

Our next major target should be a PG. Luckily for OP there are none in the next draft, so going best available will likely net us a forward. I am currently hoping it’s either Adrian Griffin Jr or Nikola Jovic.

We’re going to be to good to get an early lottery pick IMO.

I would even trade Wood for Isaac somehow.

Just curious...what makes you think we should target a PG with KPjr in the fold?

I mean, this guy looks like a potential franchise player/cornerstone. Yeah, he's got some issues, but....seems to be doing well.

I guess I just don't see what everyone else is enamored with. He's a talented athlete and can score, but not very efficiently. He's a better distributor than a shooter, so they made him a PG, but he still seems to have a SG mentality. Some of that may have had to do with the roster last year, so he deserves a chance to grow. I still see him as an experiment and don't think we should just say that he's our PG of the future and not try improve the position. I think that position is the one with the lowest floor on the team right now.

Banton from that Toronto SL squad. He did it all.

I think you bring up a great point that the roster last year may have led to some of the inefficiencies you saw in his game. Remember the first time we signed Ariza thinking he was going to be a great role player for us and then Tmac got hurt and all of a sudden we had to rely on Ariza to be a playmaker which he was absolutely terrible at? Once we traded him he resumed his role as a solid role player for many more years but it was an UGLY experiment trying to get him to be something he wasn't.

Not a big but Michael porter jr might be a James harden type situation. 3rd best player on a team with 2 young players they value more. Maybe we can slide in and grab him and hope he turns out to be a stud when allowed to showcase his talent.

Right now I am not interested in any FA. I want to focus this upcoming season solely on developing our young core - and hopefully getting another high draft pick. Then after next year, when Wall gets off the books and we hopefully have a young exciting cores that FA want to play with, I am ready to use FA to build a winning team.

    Doesn't Theis fill that role?
    (edit) except he's not 6' 11"
