In the minority here, but Jalen Green is good enough. Not everyone needs a nickname. Of the 10 players that led the league in scoring, only Giannis and Curry have nicknames. And even then, "Chef Curry" is pretty lame. "Dame Time" isn't even a nickname. Young up-and-comers like Luka and Zion don't have nicknames. Beal has never had a nickname.
He said that wasn't his number after game 1, but I don't think he's getting #4. Honestly, I'd assume he'll stick with #0, but I'd not order it right away...
That's kind of cause Luka and Zion are both unique 1st names just like Dirk was. Jalen Green has both super generic 1st and last names. There were 3 Jalens just in the top 20 this year and Green may well be the most common last name in the NBA. He Def needs a little more spice.
I see a marketing opportunity for Jalen. I haven't lived in Houston since 2013...is that recycling company still a sponsor? Green can take over for Mutombo "Two Dollars Bills!"
This may be a little Off The Wall, but the kid is clearly Bad and has shown the potential to be Dangerous from day one. Once his frame matures he may well prove Invincible and eventually rewrite Rockets HIStory: Past, Present, and Future. So Thriller (Thrilla) seems like a perfect fit in my eyes.
1. He actually does. It is "Unicorn" I'm not kidding. I saw it in one of the dozens of videos I've watched pre-draft. He even does a little thing with his finger on his forehead. 2. There is no way in hell I'm ever going to refer to him as "Unicorn" Edit: I just typed Jalen Green Unicorn in YouTube and a ton of videos popped up. He's embraced it already. He even has merch. My guy is showing up to games wearing unicorn shirts. Seems like this is something he was embracing with a group of friends early in high school though. I think Thriller and 0G are the top two for me if he keeps the number zero. Zero-G also looks like OG when you use the number and letter combo (0G) so I like that.

Steve "The Franchise" Francis Jalen "The Grinagog" Green Eh, Street names. . . Tracy "T-Mac" McGrady Jalen "J-Gree" Green Shoot, just call him Slick.
