Yeah, it was Antoine Carr. It really looked strange though .... strange injury.

    I hated writing that recap...

I'll never forget game 1 of that series! Houston went Utah and just took the Jazz apart and the entire basketball world was stunned! ESPN radio was reporting it and they couldn't believe it! I know it's hard to believe looking at the Jazz now, but the Jazz were pratically UNBEATABLE at the Delta Center, and we hadn't beat them in Utah at that time since the 2nd weekend of the 1996-1997 season.

There is no question that game 6 loss against the Jazz in 1997 had to be pretty close to the worst loss I can remember. Just the magnitude of it being the Western Conference Finals was what made it so devastating. The losses in the first round in 1998 and 1999 weren't as bad simply because we never got off the ground for those playoff runs.

But til this day, all I can remember from the Jazz loss in 1997 is Clyde trying to take Byron Russell off the dribble with TOO MUCH DAMN time left. He should have held it for the final shot. That's one good thing about Mobley, if the game is tied with 20 seconds left, at least he heaves a semi bad shot with no time left or stalls the offense so the clock expires. And thus, at least we'll have the chance for 5 more minutes of basketball.

But Clyde and his ego.......Still makes me mad.

I still think we were better than the Laker team that swept us 3-0 a while back. We should have won that series. I was so mad.

I agree that the Stockton three killed me.It hurt especially bad cause of the illegal screen by Malone.

But to counter this I think about the Eddie Johnson three that won us a game. That was the most exciting playoff win for me.I believe it was that same series.

Does anyone have a tape of that Rockets/Sonics game 7 in 1993? Also, who hit that three pointer right before halftime that put us up by 10?
That game, and the Stockton three, were devastating. I can remember about 6 calls that went against us down the stretch.. even Magic Johnson said that we were getting robbed. I remember George Karl pleading with the officials that the ball went off us, and they listened to that fool.

No question Game 6 of the 1997 WCF against the Utah Jazz. But a close 2nd had to be game 1 of the first round game versus the Lakers in 1999. Quitten dribbling the ball off his foot, and then Shaq blocking Cat's shot turned that entire series around. To this day I feel that if Pippen hadn't dribbled that ball off his foot, we would have won that game, and won that series and gave San Antonio a battle in the 2nd round.

96 Western Conference Championship, that shot by stockton sent me into depression for a good week. (I was a HS Junior at the time and VERY VERY involved with the rockets).
