Someone should put this post as a Sticky as it concerns trading for T-Mac. T-Mac is a top 5 NBA player, you move heaven and earth to get him on the team. Period!

I all for getting T-Mac at whatever the cost. To me Yao is never going to lead a team to the finals on his own. I think the ball should go threw him, but he doesn't have to be a 1st option. That is where T-Mac comes in. T-Mac is a 6-8 SG that can shot lights out and take it to the hoop on anybody and throw it down. I think he would go crazy on a team with Yao. If Yao gets double teamed kick it out to T-Mac and he will make the other team pay for doubling Yao. If they double T-Mac, Yao can make them pay too. I'd trade Steve, Cat, and Cato for T-Mac, one of there bigs(Howard, Gooden, or Garrity) and there 2nd. With there 2nd we could get Duhon or another PG.

    Yao
    Taylor
    Jackson(or Boki)
    T-Mac
    Duhon

That is a much better team. Scoring options should go T-Mac, Yao, Taylor, Jackson.

not a bad lineup...pf would be needed in the future, but could be ok for a while.

Basically he can OPT out next year. . .
so if he with a team he don't like. . they only have him for a year
is letting go some high quality talent worth a year
of service from a Disgruntled star?

What would happen IF Orlando end up with the FIrst Draft pick? Will it change TMac decision? That will be interesting of where Orlando end up in the draft.

If they draft a rookie with their pick to play for them, he will be gone.

If they trade their high pick for a star who can help his team towards a championship, he will probably, but not assuredly, stay.

He doesn't want to play with a rookie, he wants to win now, which is why I think we're the best option, not Phoenix. LA and San Antonio's offers aren't as good as Francis in a deal.

T-Mac knows he can win with Yao - even in the West.

Yao can score from the low post, high post, he can hit a J from 18 feet out with ease, he can hold his position easily, and he can set a super solid screen. He is the one person who can stand up to Shaq, and T-Mac can stand up to Kobe. When GP and Karl Malone leave next season, what makes them better than us really?

If T-Mac comes here, we will make the second round of the playoffs. You can't beat star power like Yao/T-Mac.

Ok. I must have missed the memo. So Tmac wants out of Orlando? Is he trying to force a trade now?

Man, it would be sweet to land him. I even liked the idea of the deal that didn't include Tmac or SF. It was like the 4th post in this thread.

I've mentioned him tons of times. I think he would be superb for this team, having also played with Shaq and Kobe. Great 3-pt shot, great deefnse, lots of heart.

Would love to see him play 25 minutes ath PG for us.

Memo to CD: Do whatever it takes to get TMac save trading Ming. Thank you. Note: if TMac comes to Houston, Toyota Center will sell out = Money! Les, are you listening? This is the right move at the right time. For me personally, it would be a dream come true. I don't think some you have seen TMac play, he is unreal. He would make Ming into a true superstar. Talk about killing a zone. If a team doubled or tripled Ming, TMac would average 60. They could become the Kobe and Shaq of the next decade. Think about it people!

There was a trade proposal on that realgm board that had a three way deal with:

    Houston gets McGrady/Hill/filler

    Charlotte gets Francis/maybe filler

    Orlando gets #4 pick/Cato/filler

I think Orlando would definitley go for that deal. They will have an Eastern Conf. quality center, two VERY high picks and LOTS of cap room. Plus, this goes along with a rumor posted by Doc Rocket a few weeks ago on how Francis heard he would possibly go to Char. for the #4 pick and that maybe another team was involved.

From what he hears, and this was verbatim - "I heard Pete, Jalen and a pick. I also heard Charlotte for the #1" My friend then said that they have the #4 not the #1. Steve said, "I meant their 4. Charlotte wouldn't be bad!"

What my friend added was that the thinking was the trade would be for Steve PLUS a bad contract if it was to Charlotte. Steve didn't say that, my buddy did and he heard that from another guy. Again, I can't say their position on the basketball side even though they probably do not read the board anyway.

So that's what I've heard and I would have to say it sounds very solid. As for the teams involved, I don't know. I assume that others will get in the mix but my buddy said that they don't think that they'll can get as much as they want. The fact remains that Steve DID say that 'I'm outta here.'

Perhaps we can then entice Rasheed to come and play with Yao & McGrady and you got yourself a team!

That would make sense. I’ve said in the past that if the Magic are going to trade Mcgrady, lottery picks and cap space may be what they covet the most.

Yesterday Chad Ford wrote a column on ESPN that kind of hints that a deal like that might be what they're looking for.

The question is why would Orlando trade McGrady for Cato and the #4 pick when they will already have a high draft choice and theoretically could get a proven player in return for McGrady. That is to say, what is more valuable to Orlando -

    A) Pick #1-3, Pick #4, Cato/filler

    or

    B) Pick #1-3, Steve Francis, Cato/filler

If I was Orlando, I would want choice B.

Wow SF3 and Barron Davis on the same team! If Charlotte can do that for the #4 in a weak-a$$ draft then they should do it! It would be great for SF3 (he and Davis are friends). Wow, I'd hate to play that team...but wouldn't mind so much if they were trying to figure out how to stop a 6'8" TMAC and a 7'6" Yao Ming.

What I like is that we keep CAT and move him for a better fitting piece, unless T-MAC is seen as the 3 by CD/JVG/Big Daddy Alexander.

That would be more interesting than SF going to Orlando because I'd imagine Disney World would get old.

IF this were accurate just think of the fun it would be to get these two similar players to learn to play together. Totally IMpossible.

But, of course, it could not be.

Another 'but' -- SF to NJ to help save Kidd's physicalities would, in fact, be an interesting backcourt. The Lakers did a lot of that with Cooper and others, Nixon before that, for magic.
