I vote Giannis. In 5 yrs he will be around 31 If he is still playing at a high level . . . . Rocket River
Durant and harden already are if you count what the Nets do on the side. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.sp...ly-found-way-save-money-put-team-trouble/?amp
1. Zion, by far. 2. Luka 3. Giannis 4. Cade Cunningham 5. Future NBA stars drafted in 2022-2027 Honorable Mentions: Trae Young, Michael Porter Jr, Devin Booker,
*** it. I’m going to be optimistic. Jalen Green. The truth is that no one presently drafted will reach $60 million anytime soon. Will stay in the $50 million range for awhile.
Curry's recent extensions has him close with a 59.6 million dollar salary in 2025-26. If Harden signs a new 4 year contract instead of opting in at the end of the year, the fourth year of his contract (25=26) will be over 60 million.
https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id...on-supermax-rookie-extension-dallas-mavericks There's probably more nuance to all the numbers, but 41.4M per year, for 5 years, ain't too damn shabby. If my math is right, 41.4M over 82 games is $504,878. Luka is about to make more than half a million per game played. What am I doing with my life?
Change that. Think Harden will opt in next year to get the highest salary, (since its based on 8% raises) then extend, which will make his salary over 60 million in 26-27.
I wonder what the cost of tickets will be to go watch a guy play who makes $60 MIL / Year. I bet a coke will be $20 and some fake ass nachos will be $35. One person to go to a game $250 / ticket + Parking $50 + crappy meal = $355 (1 game) Dude would make $731,707 / Game. It would take 2,061 people paying $355 just to cover THAT 1 dudes salary. Ridiculous! I'll stay at home, Drink my $1 coke, $3 loaded Nachos and free highlights on YouTube.
I'd like to know how much these salaries are in relation to: - how much money the NBA makes from ads, sponsors etc. - how much owners make - the dollar and how much players are making in relation to the value of it compared to back in the day. - how much the TV deals have to do with the spike and how was this back in the day. - etc. 60 million in the 90s would be much more now for example, so while these numbers are crazy, if someone has found an article explaining how much the value of these contracts is relatively speaking and in relation to all these other parties involved, then maybe there's a judgment to be made. In a vacuum I'd of course say it's ridiculous and makes no sense for anyone to make this much money, but players used to be paid much less compared to what the NBA, owners, sponsors were making off of them. Now they're getting their due, but still seems way too crazy.
But are the chips stale? The cheese cold? Hows the hot dogs? Are the buns cold? And the beer? Is it flat?
