People wanted to trade for another top pick to get Mobley or Cade but I wanted Suggs or Kuminga in addition to green. Suggs looks nice.
Yes, I was watching his fundamentals, footwork, positioning, fighting for rebounds, blocking shots. Most of which was better than what I was expecting. Cleveland presented some big bodies in the interior defensively which allowed me to see Sengun at work vs some strong guys. Also made Jalen resort to a couple layups and fade aways. No dunks this go around for Green. Lob dunk attempt was a foul non-call undercutting him....but I digress. But back to Sengun. Solid game rebounding vs a tall Mobley and crew. Mobley attempted more post up attempts than I ever thought he would. Good test for Sengun as Mobley has long legs and arms. So Sengun blocking Mobley and others showed a lot. Don't get me wrong, Mobley is kinda weak and will have a hard time finishing a lot of post ups vs NBA caliber players.....but Sengun did the best he could vs the competition we set in front of him. He reminds me of a shorter Pau Gasol. Was more aggressive attacking the rim than Pau Gasol; but in this era of NBA-lite players....bully-ball is making a comeback. Seeing the Bucks and Lakers (last year) bully their way to a championship makes me see how Sengun can help the Rockets. Take it to the weaker, thinner centers like Jokic and Embiid do.....brings them to MVP candidate level. Sengun needs to add that 3-ball if he plans to get to their level though. Hope to see Sengun vs bigger more skilled players. Hopefully pass each test as he goes along.
I'm hoping Sengun isn't completely finished growing, he's the youngest guy on the team so it's possible. He'll be fine if not, but a few extra inches could raise his ceiling significantly
God I hope so, I would love Jalen Green/Kevin Porter Jr. backcourt for the next 10-15 years, would be amazing, same with Sengun & Garuba at C & PF, Christopher 6th man, Tate SF maybe?
Yes, I don't want him to gain much weight unless it's substituting fat for muscle. I don't know if you saw Luka Garza. Lost 25 pounds to get near 240 pounds. That should help keep Garza in the league. Maybe? I would like Sengun to stay near 240 pounds. And stay away from that stop dribble near the rim, turn his body, slide that pivot foot a yard; I saw in highlight videos. Keep that stuff in the Turkish league. Lol. He stayed away from that vs the Cavs. Showed some discipline.
What kind of loser mentality, defeatist attitude is this? How are you going to preemptively try to prepare the fan-base for a possible disappointing moment and talk them off the ledge in advance because you fear Green is going to clap cheeks tomorrow? This is just weird to me. Have some faith in your guy. Cade may come out pulling up from everywhere and shut everybody the hell up. And at the end of the day, no matter what happens, it's one game and really isn't that serious.
