I actually REALLY liked KO when he was with the Suns. He'll have some monster flashes of potential every now and then that makes you think he has all-star potential. He still has some time to make that happen as well, same age as Christian Wood and a few others, but that window to go to the next level will be up REAL soon. With that said, I'd rather heap playing time and responsibility (offensively) onto Green and KPJ way more than Kelly. Asking him to play like he did with the Suns will only take the ball out of the hands of the guys we are trying to develop. Even if he became what you want out of him, his contract situation just isn't as great as the younger guys, who will be RFA when theirs are up. I wouldn't be mad at the move, and he could hit big in our system (just look at the last Kelly we acquired), but it would seem pretty difficult to develop 3 player's ball-skills in the same time frame (especially if we have to sit on Wall and EG). I think that limits him to playing exactly how he did last year if we acquired him. But again, would love to be wrong!
ESPN doesn't acknowledge Eric Gordon as being with the team; but yet Armoni Brooks and Anthony Lamb have a spot. Do they know something we don't? https://www.espn.com/nba/team/depth/_/name/hou ...to be continued later this afternoon ?!?!
TBF, the ESPN trade machine also has Danuel House with a $38.9mm salary, so… Missing Gordon here is probably incompetence rather than insight.
Stone owes him, he said they would sign him again if the opportunity presented itself. We need size, a wing who can shoot, a veteran and someone who will sign for 5 million a year and would just fit right in. Green is perfect!!
KOubre is a bullet dodged. Need responsible brutes that won’t get KPJ into trouble. Not clubbing lady boys.
I'm sure the opportunity presenting itself would involve some sort of 3-for1 trade that actually opens up roster spots. Until then, I just think they play some guys out of position.
Highly recommend you use the trade machine on Fanspo: https://fanspo.com/nba/trade-machine You can adjust player contracts & sign players to new contracts before dealing them, which will let you simulate more complicated transactions (like S&Ts).
