Brooklyn is a ticking time bomb, yeah Durant is going to get his money but these contracts are nearly pointless because the moment things don't go well they demand a trade.... This is Brooklyn with Irving and Harden, that team is going nowhere.... In less than 2 years Durant will want out and Harden will be off to the next location...

There is no value when the player picks and choses where he wants to go.....

It would have if the the rockets didn’t have a dumbass owner. The nets aren’t dealing with that. Nah it isn’t when they choose where they go. Which KD did. Next up is harden and kyrie

Not really. For the peon teams yeah but having someone locked up in NY, Miami, or California still means a lot.

Either way no way Durant lasts through all this without injury riddled years. He’s a 33 year old 7 footer with a history of Lower leg injuries.

He could get hurt again and it will implode. Trust these Harden picks are gonna pan out.

If Durant wants to leave in the middle of his contract they will get value back for him no matter what. Even if there is one year left on the deal, they will get value back.

Nets will be in the playoffs for the next 2-3 years but I think this season was a harbinger of what’s to come. Fully healthy they should dominate everyone but it’s likely they will continue to have the nicks and bruises and miss games here and there.

What will be interesting is if they continue to have seasons like last year where they make the playoffs but lose due to injuries how they handle the disappointment.

We don’t need the Nets pick to hit right now. Follow the Boston model which would have worked if not for injuries. Draft two studs (Tatum/Brown = Green/2022 lotto pick), trade for a disgruntled star, (Irving) and then sign a max space FA (Hayward). We need to tank this year and prepare to package Wall with maybe Wood and picks in the summer for our disgruntled star. (Zion?) The Nets picks can be used to grease trades until we get to 2025-2027 when it’s more likely they will be top selections.

Which good vet hasnt signed yet with LA?

Injuries are very legit esp for Irving who has been injury prone his entire career. KD playing in the Olympics just means more wear and tear on his body, no time to rest and with a full new NBA season ahead of him.

What players usually do is sign with the team that can give them them the most money and then as soon as things don't go the way they liked they tell them to trade them where they want to go (a la Harden) and the team is left with their d!ck in their hand thinking I didn't just get my money's worth on that deal. Just because he signed that contract doesn't mean its going to be BKN paying them.

I think harden for sure can bc of his build, I don't see durant doing it with his built and major injury. Don't get me wrong, durant can be a dynamic scorer in his mid 40s bc he can still just shoot over people but I dint see him being a workhorse. Jordan btw also took 2 years off from basketball and they were not due to a injury

My words exactly. Great minds think a like and frankly it happens all too often in the NBA. These guys just use these teams to get every last dollar out of them and then show no loyalty whatsoever. Then again, the teams don't show a lot of loyalty either with all the player movement.

Ha, totally agree... These contracts mainly benefit the players, while the teams can and most likely do get screwed over in the end. This is Durant's last big contract, he has pretty much accomplished everything possible professionally. Giving Harden a ring may be beyond his ability, but I don't see this signing as anything other than Durant getting his while its there... I still think Brooklyn implodes in about 2 seasons....

Reasonable, except the part about Wall+Wood + pick somehow turning into Zion, unless that pick is the #1 overall for next year. Zion would carry a hefty price tag.

it seems like those 3 get along pretty good. They all have high iq and can shoot the lights out. It looks we might have to wait until 2027 and hope we get anything outta that deal. Also Durant has been to Cali already. Where else would he force a trade too. Maybe Miami

I doubt Kyrie has that high IQ the way he carries himself.

This is the biased take I've ever seen. Milwaukee would have been swept by Brooklyn if they were all healthy or even if 2 of them were completely healthy. People here pointing to Harden being a malcontent. He was literally teamed up with guys that had the worst record in the NBA and it wasn't even close. Off course he wanted out. Harden knew how sucky Wall was. As goofy as Kyrie is, he was instrumental in the Cleveland championship. He's better than anything Harden has had as a Rocket other than one good season of CP3. That being said CP3 and Harden are redundant because it took the ball out of Harden's hands. Kyrie can play off of Harden who is the best passer in the NBA.

Uhh, the Nets were 2-2 vs Milwaukee in the first 4 games of their series with 2 of their big 3 healthy. Irving didn't get injured until the end of game 4. Nets actually played their best in that series when only KD was healthy. Between their sucky performances in games 3/4, Harden's playoff failure history, and Milwaukee's track record this year of getting better as series went on, no one has any idea what a healthy Nets team would have done.

If we're saying terrible records = teammates suck, then it's worth noting that prior to getting Lebron, Kyrie's teams were routinely the worst in the NBA too.

Without Lebron, Kyrie's track record is no better than Westbrook or CP3. He's a proven scorer who has never really shown an ability to win unless paired with a GOAT-level player. His messy time in Boston suggests he actually hurts teams' winning.
