Wings/forwards are pretty much the only minutes we have left to offer, and I’m not even sure if there’s that much available given we will probably role with some 3 guard and 2 big lineups. Bigs - Wood, Theis, Sengun, Garuba Guards - KPJ, Green, Wall, Gordon, Augustine Wings - Tate, Nwaba, KMJ
I wouldn’t be able to sleep at night if I’m Schroder or Oladipo Bricktor could’ve been making 25 mil next season, but instead will be making the vet min who knows what scraps Schroder will be getting this summer when he could’ve been sitting pretty with a 4/84 deal if I’m Schroder, I’m slapping my agent, then I’m firing him as for Bricktor, this dude turned down not 1, but 2 extension offers even tho he was looking like a shell of himself since he returned from injury
Missing 3 more guards: Josh Christopher, Khyri Thomas, Armoni Brooks That would be EIGHT guards on Rockets roster.
mda in his pre-retirement mode, he had felt being humiliated by ferntites badly, guess not got over yet.
I've seen this movie before.... Bottom-feeding team brings in a coach that works the players hard, getting them into the playoffs. Team then rewards the best players on that team with contract extensions and brings in more free agents to keep the good times rolling. Everyone in the city is happy to be relevant again only to forget how it all happened--players were ran ragged, playing lots of minutes every night. Soon, players start to get "mysteriously" injured, missing games and now those newly-extended players become financial anchors around the team's ability to achieve long-term success.
I noticed that as well. No doubt Josh Christopher and Khyri Thomas are seen as wings by this organization. There was that one season in which Eric Gordon was categorized as SF. He and Ben McLemore....both 6'3"
Just like when Nerlens Noel turned down 4 years 70 million from the Mavs. Over the next 4 years he would go on to make a little over 12 million dollars. 5 million last year and he just signed a 3/32. So he roughly will end up making around 50 million over 8 years. For comparison sake, let’s pretend he took the Dallas deal, made the same amount of money last season and signed this 3/32, he could’ve earned 107 million over this same 8 year period. That’s a difference of 57 million dollars! He’ll never recoup that money.
