He's going to want closer money as he did succeed at that role prior to being traded. Certainly the Astros would consider that if it was truly needed or Pressly came up lame or he just flat-out turned into a Rivera/Hoffman clone willing to stay here... but set-up/7th inning guys are usually available in the off-season (last off-season's flame out signings not withstanding).
It gets even better when, since we're in fantasy land, Graveman loves Houston and the team and resigns. 1/2 season my ass.
I just caught on to this... When was any of this **** an actual realistic thing? Bregman: No, uh...never Tucker: 4 years ago sure, but he was "untouchable" along with Martes, he worked out OK Alvarez: ??? WTF ??? Garcia: This year, in a package for a Scherzer, that was it Valdez: ??? He was a lottery ticket until last season
I remember Bregman for Sale, but i think that was it. Definitely don't recall any Alvarez trades and yeah Valdez was a nobody until last year lol
Bregman has played 129 MLB games at SS including 65 games there in 2019. Seems like a lot of games for somebody they don't see as a SS. This isn't a video game. You can't just plug in other players to force a trade. Supposedly the Mariners are extremely high on Toro.
Just reading the room when it’s come to how the team has viewed him in all the games where Correa was out prior. He’s also of the age where his range/mobility can naturally be questioned. He’s had plenty of time playing the SS area during shifts. He doesn’t have the range or accuracy/strength on throws from the dirt that above average SS’s have shown. my point is the Astros viewed Toro as blocked/expendable, knowing full well that they may have to find a Correa placement next year.
If Bregman got into a "flexibility not bulk" type of workout regimen, he could conceivably play SS again. He cannot on a regular basis, as it stands. Not enough range at all, and he's great at 3B, why make 2 positions weaker by moving him?
Where do you think Correa goes? I could see Phillies possibly, doubling down on their Harper contract.
Favorites: Tigers Yankees Phillies Astros Darkhorses: Angels Braves Might make a serious offer that he will reject: Rangers Orioles Nationals Reds Mariners Twins
I hope he saw that Yuli trimming down and him bulking up in the off-season led to drastically different results and he responds accordingly.
I know Reddick had a hot start, guess he cooled off...Would you rather have Reddick as a 4th outfielder in the playoffs or a rookie?
Would like nothing more than for the Jays to get the final wild card spot with Springer. One because it's Springer and two because it's not the Yankees or the A's.
