They traded for Westbrook. Suns obviously weren't going to trade them Paul for what the Westbrook return was (or at all)

You can't quantify intangibles and leadership, the effect CP3 is having on Booker, Ayton and the other youngsters goes far beyond the numbers. Money well spent to keep the winning culture CP3 brings, you can't reproduce what Paul spirit does to the youngsters in turning that franchise back to relevance longterm. These next couple years will transition the team fully to Booker and Ayton as they grow into their prime readiness and winning habits well beyond CP3 contract.

He earned the bag, good job CP3.

Still think he has the talent to be an NBA lifer like Jerry West. He could be a coach, GM/executive or owner down the road.

CP3's past contract was a player option that he declined; if CP3 wanted LA as a destination, the Suns would have to facilitate a sign-and-trade. And they'd most likely oblige, as they wouldn't be losing CP3 for nothing.

I know but I can't see the Suns helping LA for nothing. The Lakers had nothing to trade..moot anyways cause it didn't happen

You said that he was picking money over legacy. I just think it's ridiculous that "latching onto superteam with some of the best players in basketball" is correlated to legacy now. Like it's a bad thing to try to build something in Phoenix and accept you might not win is a horrible choice for someone's legacy and picking that is just caring about money.

A player's legacy is always tied to his rings. It's not just today ever heard of a player called Wilt Chamberlain? Charles Barkley? Why do people ignore KG and steve nash in greats discussion?

Again I never said its a bad thing to choose the bag its up to player preference right? But are you denying the reality player legacy is tied to rings?

Taking 56M when you are 40, does that help or hinder PHX in winning a ring? Its like saying you wanna have a six pack but then you bring home tubs of ice cream, decadent chocolate and packs of hot cheetos. It's his choice dude, everybody has the right to do what he wants. My only issue is using NBA player Union as an excuse why he couldnt take a discount. Just be honest money means more to him than rings. Its that simple.

It's now been reported by Arizona beat writers that CP3 contract isn't as bad as many assumed.

The third year of his contract is only partially guaranteed and the 4th is a team option.

Lastly for those blaming CP for not taking less money to help the Sun's roster build. First the team was over the cap. Second there were no big free agent targets for them and finally Sarver has never paid the tax, nor will the sun's be paying the tax this year.

New Orleans trying to sign whoever, they need to face facts and trade for John Wall. That's their best option.

Oh god no..... lol. I wasn’t a fan of the constant trading players before they developed to chase a star.

Exactly, it’s sad that if someone thinks not going to a super team is not valuing winning lmao. That poster you quoted is a p***y doe

Those saying CP3 chose money at the cost of his team winning couldn't be more wrong. Dude saved the Suns almost 20 million this year by opting out of his 44.2 million dollar salary. He's making in two years only 11 million more than he would've made this season alone had he opted in. Add in the partial guarantee 3rd year and team option for year 4... Sarver got a massive deal.

Edit: Suns. Was distracted by the tweet about pelicans offering him 100million.

Damn! If he did that for the Pelicans, just imagine what he'll be willing to do for the team he actually plays for.

Ok but who else was gonna offer Cp3 the max and would Cp3 be willing to go to that team? I find it funny both Tillman Fertita and Sarver, 2 of the cheapest owners, ended up paying Cp3 the max on multiple years.

Arent you the dude who claimed cp3 wasnt washed right before the Subs got eliminated due to Cp3's bad performance?

Went on a whole ****ing rant only to see Cp3 fall short again smh. Next time wait until Cp3 actually wins the ring before you start flapping off smh.
