Perfect! Just how I envisioned. LMJ filthy AF. Offense did enough to win. Some games will be low scoring even though they feel odd at times - so used to the high scoring games.

House money now lets take some hacks against Max. Might get lucky!

This would be Lance in May against the Orioles though. Dude is just wired that way. But yes, today's game will be even more intense. Does Javier tandem with Odorizzi in today's game? As many have mentioned, maybe just let Jake pitch twice through their lineup and pull him for Javier?

We definitely got on base against Max in the '19 WS but just couldn't get that clutch hit with men on. Hopefully they can put together a couple of hits/walks and do some damage. Hopefully Jake pitches well enough too.

Interesting article that makes it sound like the fans won. Also noticed that they excluded the part where Stanek said they were throwing beers specifically at Astros fans. Seems like they are trying to make it sound like they were throwing at the Astros players... which of course would be okay according the National media.

    Article:
Astros reliever Ryne Stanek -- who got the save in the absence of Ryan Pressly, who is on paternity leave -- said fans seated near the right-field bullpen were hurling "basically full beers at people for a half an inning" two-thirds of the way through the game.

    Full Quote:
“People started throwing stuff at Astros fans and for a few minutes you basically sat there and watched people throw full beers at people for half an inning. … It was kind of a bonkers atmosphere to play in, for sure.”

I think Brantley is hurting and will get the night off. Chas in CF and Tucker in RF.

I think he does. Pull Odorizzi after going through the order twice. Hopefully that’s the 5 inning. Javier 6,7. Gimi in the 8th. Graveman close.

    Astros win 4-3

Balls move like that all the time. What's unusual about it is the location. It's usually at the batter's right appearing to be on the outside third of the plate and then moves off the plate. This is the same pitch, but it's rarely used because if it doesn't break, it can easily hit the batter. It you don't start it at the batter, it breaks over the middle third of the plate and gets hammered.

He actually had that happen when he tried the mirror image on a righty batter and the ball didn't break to the plate.

He was also moving the eye level up and down, in and out, fast and slow. It was just an amazing performance.

First things first. Let's hope Jake makes it through the order twice at the end of the sixth inning.

Game Action and Roster Moves. The primary Rockets message board. Which i like and is the core of the site … but which is extremely prone to knee-jerk reactions, hyperbole, dogmatic arguments with people who only care about “winning”, etc. This board normally avoids that, but after the deadline there was a definite uptick from frequent GARM/infrequent Astros posters making ridiculous over generalizations based on anecdotes and a lack of understanding what a .600 league looks like.

Of course, we’re doing that based on one Dodgers game, but I assume most of us know it’s just a fun night vs a harbinger of all to come.

He'll defintely try to squeeze as many lefties/switchies into the lineup as he feels he can. That's just his style. But protecting the older guys is also his style. Brantley is listed as day to day and I was surprised to see him yesterday. The 7th inning collision with the low fence couldn't have helped.

    That's my dude.

He loves the game, he competes and when he brings it.... he lets everyone know he brought it.

LMJ has had a hell of a season thus far. Click and co. took a chance on a guy who has been injury prone and a bit inconsistent, but it's looking like a really shrewd move right now.

Obviously a win like this feels a lot better than others, but it's just one game. Had we lost 3-0 plenty of posters would be whining about how you can't trust this team. This group has proven many times that pressure environments aren't a problem. Doesn't mean they will always play well, but it won't be because the stage was too big.

I would not say avoids ... mitigates may be a better word.

That said, there is enough of a chance that the Astros beat the Dodgers in the World Series, again, that we should not rule out that last night was a harbinger of all to come.

New York Yankees fans are bad...... the Phillies fans are bad.... but the most GHETTO, trashy, gangbanging.... glue huffing fans belong to the Dodgers.... you have the rich white people in polo shirts that pay women to **** on their chests and leave in the 5th inning.... you have the mentally ill and COVID infected trash.... and last, you have the gangbanging Mexican LA gutter trash that are loaded by the 5th inning and are throwing **** and trying to start fights in the stands.

I disagree. Right handed pitcher usually don't have left to right action especially at 98 mph. That was like a 98 mph sinker with left to right action.

And Lance McCullers declared himself the ace of the staff when he dropped his pair on all of Dodger World's foreheads....

LA is just a weird place in general. Only things good about it is the weather and the great restaurants in the area.
