Lol so its pretty clear now Cp3 values the bag over winning a ring. Nothing wroth with that but he already a multi millionaire I thought winning and his legacy should be the priority.

I dunno what PHX is thinking lmao wtf.

Seems very weird for Paul though.

Why does he want long term security when all the contenders are lining up to sign him.....lol....

At the chance of being traded unless he has a trade kicker.

Lol, he is not a Tier 1 superstar, so legacy talks is moot at that point.

It's not getting into his head that playing with a friend is better for him. But whatevs.

Maybe he has a bet with Bron about him winning a ship without Bron's help.

He sure likes to party with latter but not play with him unless it's the Olympics.

The Almost trade to the Lakers got to him.

Yeah but he could have taken less in PHX so they can get more help.

It's the same **** in Houston, could have taken less so there would be more help for him and Harden.

perhaps, but hes the president of players, it would have set a bad precedent to take less money

You mean like how MJ was underpaid for most of his career?

There's already lots of precedent for players taking less to win. Lebron, KD, Tim Duncan, they all took less money at times to win a ring. It's a personal decision I dont think players would be swayed either no matter what Cp3 does.

You missed his point. Chris Paul is the president of the players union. As a union leader, you can’t take pay cuts.

They both are on their last legs.

CP3 is chippy and petty sometimes but they know each other since the draft and maybe even before.

That's couple decades of friendship to ruin by one title run.

The only guy I could see pouting would be AD but his injury history does not warrant him to do so.

i think one of us may not have the great perspective on how tough is to live/work together in contrast to being friends from distance

Pretty sure Derek Fisher signed for vet min to be on a contender despite being the union leader lol.

I honestly think its just an excuse. Players taking paycuts to win is nothing new. Its easier to justify taking the bag when you say you are setting an example or w/e.

I looked it up on Wikipedia. Fisher was NBA Union president from 2006-2013. During that time he asked to be bought out of his contract numerous times and signed with Lakers, Utah Jazz and Mavs as a ring chaser.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Derek_Fisher#:~:text=He was elected the union's,union's full-time executive director.

It's just an excuse man. Cp3 can't take 1 dollar less yet Fisher bought out his contract and asked to be waived from the Rox so he can sign with a contender.

I'm not saying there's anything wrong about prioritizing money over rings but then dont try to make the league union the excuse. Garuba for example didnt just take a discount, the dude is gonna eat a 2.3M debt just to play in the NBA. He is putting his money where his mouth is.

And Tilman thought THAT contract was the worst ever. LOL. The irony is that Sarver might be an even more stringent owner than Fertitta.

Worked out for him when he traded his way into a team he liked.
