Wait a minute. Didn't the MLB AND the MLBPA both agree to make the jab required for ALL players? How could he possibly have COVID? Unless the JAB contains enough COVID fragments to make the test register. Anyway, in either case, it's doubtful an otherwise healthy man his age will feel any significant effects. At least for now.
He has a 173 OPS+ and a 153 ERA+. That is ridiculous lol. For a fun comparison, Trout has a career 176 OPS+ and Kershaw has a career 155 ERA+
Good for him. Offer Correa Ohtani's contract. 2 years/$8.5M (2021-22) signed extension with LA Angels 2/8/21 (avoided arbitration, $3.3M-$2.5M) 21:$3M, 22:$5.5M
I just thought of that, I bet he's been doing Super-Beets. We know Orange Juice and Coke test positive for COVID too.
Can we PLEASE leave politics out of this forum? This is an ASTROS forum, we are supposed to talk about ASTROS and ASTROS-related news. If you want to talk politics and your take on Covid, there is an ENTIRE forum dedicated to that. Post there to your heart's content. It is getting REALLY annoying when I just want to come in here and read ASTROS news, that I have to sklm through stupid sh*t like this. I don't care what anyone's political views are, who they voted for, or who they think is a good/bad president. Or read passive-aggressive posts on Covid. I am not sure why it is so hard to understand the concept of there being different forums for different subject matters.
Sorry for invading your echo chamber. Pickin' on a baseball player who's only on this thread because he's got a positive test for COVID AFTER the JAB is somehow more offensive than putting on here in the first place.
They've got a lot of starters sidelined, so they're really desperate for somebody to eat a few innings. As of right now they're stuck in the play in game.
The phenomenon of how players get injured more as they age… but the conundrum that teams pay for past performance as they age… leads to a scenario whereby there’s rarely surplus value (phrase of the day) in any FA deal. The teams that should go after free agents to push them over (the ones full of young talent) are unfortunately the ones that can’t afford it. The mid-market teams could afford it but are one bad contract/deal away from having to push a full re-set, possibly losing more prospects to off-load the underperforming player. The big market teams make mistakes of going all into the past prime guys, or sign all their homegrown products... and constantly are good enough to trade prospects at the deadline but they may not really ever build a team that flat-out dominates. Basically the 2015-2021 Astros are unicorns. A mix of everything. If it was that easy, more tanking teams would come up with 4 100 win seasons.
