Milwaulkee would in a second. Thats why they gave up so many assets for Holiday and then gave him a massive contract. They need giannis to stay and compete, their market, team, value is almost entirely based off of him. They get the opportunity to surround him with talent now they wil take it. Teams like them, just like warriors who are committed to competing, nets included are handing out blank checks paying luxury tax when most would argue its not worth it just to marginally increase their chances and go all in on a win
100 mill contract for his skills on this team at this point of our rebuild wouldn't be smart, the 1st may have been the right move.
Adams made $29,592,695 this year .... $27,528,088 of that in base salary , the other $2,064,607 was a trade kicker. That contract was signed in 2017 .... Steven Adams Contract, Salary Cap Details & Breakdowns | Spotrac That's right in line with Allen's max of $29,467,800 when you factor in year to year raise of 8% ( $27,528,088+ $2,202,247=$29,730,335). That's 26.5% of the cap , I'm not so sure that's a contract that teams would see as positive. Hell even at the 4/100 number you threw out , a $25m average equates to 22.3% of the cap next year. I do expect the new TV deal to drive the price of business higher overall but that's yet to come to fruition .... I won't argue that keeping Allen and his bird rights probably nets you something better than the #24 .... but you gotta keep salary matching in mind on that. An S&T involving Allen at $25m requires you to take back $20m .... With where this team is in regard to the cap / tax line with Wall & EG taking up 53% of the total .... That's an issue. With the worst record in the league , there's absolutely no reason to be a taxpayer.
No he did it horribly. We would have flipped Allen. He was extremely valuable at the deadline. Yes, we did great with the picks but Dipo and everyone else on the roster should have been traded immediately but we had to have that stupid streak. Our haul on players was dumb and only this draft helped fix some of that. We still would have been bottom of the barrel where we ended up. Dipo should have been flipped immediately and his value went way down at the deadline.
Cade is very impressive but you will want Green in your corner when it's the last few minutes of a close playoff game. Jalen is the type of dude to come up huge when you need him. I promise he's worth it.
He probably would have done just good enough to give our pick to the Thunder. It’s just as important to be lucky as good.
Exactly. Just be happy that they had the worst record giving the best odds to keep their pick. That is the only thing that matters. Jarret Allen could have gotten hurt etc etc. things worked out perfectly.
hate to bump this thread, but jarrett allen is a BEAST the cavs stole this guy out from under tilman being a cheapskate
The worst part of this ordeal is that if Green doesn't pan out, we would have been better off giving our pick to the Thunder.
