@ElPigto No, he's a Troy Daniels type player, I wouldn't mind be gettin in on this for that Nigerian center @tinman
Or maybe Peli's see more upside in Kira Lewis. Or plan to have Ingram, Zion, Ziaire or James Johnson play more point forward. I agree that they need a vet PG, but Wall's contract is a huge ask for a team that is not contending.
To come to us, a lot. We aren't winning, he has to be mindful of devlopment, but he is showing to be an impressive talent. the dirty work grit and physicality, with a soft touch from the outside. He'd really help anyteam and hes going to go get his bag after winning that ring. Do we want to pay? I'm fine to give osmeone an over pay if its 1-2 year contract
they may just be stupid enough to do it. After botching the Anthony DAvis era, i mean the guy wanted to stay finally had his best playoff series with Rondo at the helm and spoke glowingly about how important it was to resign rondo and how easy it made his job in the plaoyffs...they decided not to offer rondo although he was even open to a discount and get...Elfrid Payton...maybe the PER and stats checked out, goes to show theres more to evealuate than that. Also a chicken offer for Demarcus and basically they lost a guy willing to leave it out there bc it takes the franchise wanting to win too and spending for that unless you believe @tinman and role players don't matter and stars should just pick up their boostraps and carry us to win like he Learned on ESPN. and now this. Lonzo is a perfect fit for Zion. hes not the type of pg who racks up stats, he moves the ball forward. hes like jason kidd in that way he just constantly pushes the pace and immediately after a rebound hes a threat to hit a lob or full court pass...the defense is going to be winded with zion and him running the court...oddly enough it was the PERFECT fit for MDA. To take a young team and unleash their pace and just let them run and be athletic and overwhelm the older guys. ..this way wouldn't give tehm a ring, but it would take their next steps into the plyoffs and being a tuogh outt while developing the young guys and then after some years they find a defensive detail guy for the playoffs...but they botched it got rid of holidy, and for some reason extended steven adams. hurt their front office rep with a zion fellow dukie in JJ redick and my prediction is Zion will leave New Orleans...maybe after his first 3 year player option. IT won't be because of the small market, once again, management made his job harder didn't capitalize and other people will be willing to. So I think they might be dumb enough to consider John wall the right Vet influence for Zion. Hopefully, but more than likely theyll over pay trying to restimulate what happedn with Chris PAul in the Suns. Russ is traded luckily but he was ahead of Wall on the list of veteran athletic pgs who are shaky shooters and shoot too much, but now you have a cheaper bledsoe, chris paul is out there, basically wall is still not considerd a prime option with his inflexible style of play and skillset, his useage, and contract.
Hell, even Kemba Walker's contract is more palatable. OKC already milked a 1st out of BOS... maybe Presti will take a couple of 2nds on moving out Walker
This would be the Pellies smartest play (other than getting Lowry or Paul) Get Devonte Graham... looks like OKC is making a play My question for the Thunder is why???
Agreed, I've accepted that wall can either be like horford if he doesn't want to play 'vet' and we can send him home Or he can be a vet and play which I think he can too. Most likely, we wait till this offseason where he is more tradeable as an expiring contract. Maybe he gets frustrated and feels like he can get 10-15 million back and just takes a buy out? But those are ways that we don't LOSE in dealing with the wall situation, worst case we trade a pick with him. Remember thats 25 percent of harden's return to jjust rid of a contract we can send home, get the same results ,and not lose a first round pick which as we've seen with trades are massive. We traded a frst with knight to get under the tax the season after being one game from the finals...lets learn and not prioritize one guys pocket savings over an entire city and franchise.
Maybe, hes definitely a lethal scorer, but not a great playmaker. Can help spacing iwth the pells, but its ashame how great zion and ball fit together and its hard to find a 6'6 pg who can also be a 3/d to compliment such a unique talent in Zion. Holiday would work too..lol...or former pelican Paul, or lowry. You could've had ball for much cheaper and more versatility. David Griffin's handling of a situation ripe to be great has been disappointing. You get a pot of free gold in zion luck and then you screw it up...let alone the new inherited owner or former choosing to name the team Pelicans.
it’s amazing how many mistakes are made in free agency, especially on the upper end. Basically get a star, or shop in the bargain bin for role players. Otherwise, avoid.
I am sure they are more responsible with their money now that Covid had them generate less revenue. Or not.
I like Graham, but at around his current salary point. (nothing crazy).. although some analytics point to him as being very productive. NOP ... wants Wall on that Wall... they need Wall on that Wall
