Goran Dragic team option picked up, would be funny if Lowry comes and “takes” Dragic starting job. The irony is too funny
I heard that CP3 is going to get a 3 year, 90 million contract. If true, he's sabotaging his own ability to get a ring. He should play for a discount if the ring is important. This is why I don't pity people that make 100's of millions and don't have rings.
They built something good in Phoenix. I don't think they go back to the Finals, but I do not blame him for wanting to run it back. The top teams in the West are shaky again. You have Lakers with Westbrook that will be a questionable fit. You have Kawhi that will likely be out probably half the season, so Clippers chances likely won't look as good. Nuggets will be back in full strength so we will see what kind of challenge they pose. All the other teams in the West are way behind. Suns honestly look to have a decent chance to compete again, unless Mavs can add some significant talent to that team, but with new coaching staff, I just see them being bounced again from the 1st round.
No, I don't blame him wanting to run it back either. I'm saying that CP3 has made about 280 million playing basketball, he should consider the MLE if he really wants a ring. When he was a kid dreaming about the championships, and someone told him he could have 285 million and ring, or 310 million and no ring, which one do think he chooses? Taking a paycut would allow Phoenix to surround him with more talent.
i think for him the ring might be meaningless if hes getting carried especially if he needs to sacrifice 30/40 mil to get it
If Chris Paul goes for the bag over the ring, then that would be him telling you that he values the money more than the ring. No reason to feel sorry for him. In fact, you may want to find his decision admirable because he is not giving into the ring narrative. Instead, he's thinking about his family and how those extra $50 or so million could impact future generations of Pauls. As the president of the players' association, he is also setting a precedent.
I agree with some of that, some not. For people like you and I, yes, you take the money. For someone like Chris Paul, I think it's silly to sacrifice's your life's dream in for the comfort grandkids, grandkids, grandkids, grandkids, grandkids. Jumpman, if you left your family $200 million, all set up in trusts, how long before your future generations spend it? Year 2300? Year 2400? Also, I looked up Chris Paul's Net Worth, it seemed pretty low at only $130 million, compared to the over $300 million he has earned in the last 10 years. I guess taxes are are where most of it went.
That's a beta b**** way to win a ring. CP3 gets more credit dragging OKC and PHX to where he did than If he bag tagged a ring. The biggest annoyance is weak-ass people taking less money to ride Lebron's nutbag. Kudos to CP3 for being his own man. Hope he sticks with it.
The Pacers have been offering away Turner for years now for basically free. And now the Knicks can't get him? Yeah right More likely that the Knicks are trying to offload some bad salary than get Turner..
Seems like they have, yet they can't find a package they like, so I don't think they are giving him away for free, so to speak.
