Let's just say that I've seen the Ali G movie, my group of like 12 ppl made up 60% of the ppl in the audience at that time. Does that answer your question Sir Jack?
I'm just watching it on TV...this interview with Boutros Boutros Boutros Boutros Ghali...and the interview with the religious leaders where he asks the Jewish guy why they "chop one of their nuts off"...and he asks the Catholic priest if he wanted to marry the lady next to him... Ali G show - Funniest show ever!
Has he made any new episodes? I was watching religiously for a while there maybe half a year ago, but there weren't very many episodes and I never saw any new ones come on. All the ones described in this thread are ones I have seen before. Also, the movie freaking rocked.
I saw one episode late at night at a hotel room and thought it was hysterical. Couldn't even figure out what I'd seen for 6 months. Too bad I don't get HBO.
Did you guys know that he is this Jewish guy who graduated with honors from Cambridge? I also talked to a friend who once worked with him and said he is really cool and friendly. Has anyone seen that episode where he plays that gay Austrian reporter that asks those skinheads "Are there any skinheads that aren't gay?"
I like the one where he is at some English rowing regatta (SP?) and he starts cheering....then swearing....
I think my favorite was when he went to that US police station and they were showing him how to be a cop. He wouldn't stop cursing at the "perps" and acting gangster. It was unbelievably funny.
Just watched the movie...one of the worst movies ever, but still entertaining . Not as good as the show, though, because the interviews and Borat/gay Austrian reporter are the best parts and they were not in the movie...
No Bruno?! That's the best part. He came to an Alabama/Mississippi State football game, perfectly in character. He opened his bit with the line "Being gay is the newest cool thing and I'm in the gayest part of America, Alabama!" He was booed by the crowd when he was cheering with the cheerleaders on the sideline. He interviewed several players and asked them if they had anything to say to their many fans back in Austria and were they allowed to date anyone on the team. He asked me if I there were many gay sports reporters. My simple reply, "I'm not one of them." I had no clue who he was, but one of the AP photographers snapped a picture of us so I could show my wife what a weird day I had. I saw the bit on HBO (I was not on there), but Texas product, Tide and former Texas Tech running back Shaud Williams was on there. It was hilarious! He asked him if he had anything to say to the gay youth of Austria and told him that there are tons of gay men in Austria who want him. Shaud was not amused.
I saw the part where he interviewed that player (have obtained quite a few clips in the meantime)...I thought the guy was going to slap him any second. So are you in that episode somewhere as well or was that part not in the version that was shown on TV?
I loved that show. I can understand how he can't do it anymore. Sort of hard to keep your cover after you embarass so many people. He got somewhat famous people somehow. I don't know how he kept himself in character sometimes. Too funny
I'm not. They did film him talking to me, but I guess my part was on the cutting room floor. I had no idea who the hell he was or what he was doing there, but I did get my picture taken with him anyway, which he was only too happy to do. He is quite an actor.
