While some Trump supporters can be dangerous, they’re not nearly as dangerous as anti-vaxxers.

Baron Harkonnen's temporary exile to West Virginia in the prequel novella is the most underappreciated part of the Dune canon.

The vaccinated believe in science and understand that while vaccines keep the vast majority of them from serious illness, hospitalization or death, they can still get it and transmit it.

They also understand that they can transmit the delta variant to people who can’t be vaccinated (the young or people with medical reasons), and the vaccinated apparently give a crap about other people. Which cannot be said for those who can be vaccinated but choose not to.

And so the CDC guidance says for vaccinated folks to mask up in certain circumstances. Because it’s not just about the risk the person being asked to mask, you dumb ass. It’s the risk to others as well.

And why are all being asked to mask in some places? Like in work places? Because the unvaccinated cannot be trusted to mask.

All this bull crap about unknown health effects of vaccines. It’s not about that. No, it’s about me versus we. People who have your attitude care about the “me” and don’t give a crap about the “we” …. and hide behind crap like the gobmint can’t tell me what to do, the gobmint trying control peoples lives.

    It is ignorance and selfishness.

and how exactly does that work. Are we going to segregate Houston? How about Midland? Maybe we go into segregation?

Go ahead, enjoy your freedom. That’s just fine. Don’t bother giving a crap about other people. Wearing a face covering is just too much a burden to bear for the benefit of others and society. Right?

Because covid isn’t that bad, right? It’s just like the flu? The people dying from covid aren’t really dying from covid…it’s doctors making crap up. They’re really dying of something else. Covid is all a big media hysteria about nothing.

Did I get all that right?

Yes. People should ask their doctor. It's not the media's job to suggest medical procedures and then politicize it.

It is the media's job to report when a significant portion of the population is putting others in harm's way.

And yet they demonize certain groups and ignore other groups not getting the vaccine. Yes I'm sure they're really interested in "doing their job".

Their job is to push narratives bro. Don't play like they actually report ethically. That veneer washed away a long time ago.

If they want to be ethical they would actually give balanced coverage... and they don't 99 percent of the time. They have to spin everything to support their objectives (hint hint: they are activists).

People don't want to accept that its endemic. You cannot vaccinate us out of this. It's here to stay. Variants will happen no matter what. Even if we vaccinate EVERYONE by force there will still be variations later because there are other countries and people around the world. This is just people wanting a simple solution. Really we need to rely on our B cells to remember this type of virus so in the future, should we catch it, we fight it like we do the common cold. We can also count on a weaker form of the virus over time since that is the natural evolution of most.

preach, nobody even really knows the actual side effects of the vaccines either and wont until years down the line. Why not wait, the more you force us to take the more skeptical people will naturally get

This is a reasonable response from a governor

I know someone who got the virus before vaccines were available. They would have gotten the vaccine if it had been available. They died. It wasn't a coincidence.

I know two other folks who got Covid and both have permanent reduced lung capacity. They are both believers in conspiracy theories and likely wouldn't have gotten the vaccine even if it had been available. That also isn't coincidence.

The vaccine will save lives, heartache and help prevent variants. Yes, we don't know all of the possible long term side effects. But we do know possible outcomes of Covid19.

We also know the spread of the virus puts small businesses, in particular, at risk.

The responsible thing to do is for people to get vaccinated.

People should talk to their doc. People may have reasons they don't want to take it. That's their business.
