Morey is being stonewalled by the rest of the league and klutch sports because of his China comments

I'm only a casual conspiracy theorists, but it always felt like Morey was being black listed by the NBA when he was with the Rockets.

Morey is somehow driving Simmons' trade value to the ground with his outlandish demands. Well I guess it was trash as it is but Morey somehow managed to make it worse in a span of just 1 week.

It's just the impression but I think he was disliked by some people within the league and when that happened, they just saw an opportunity to stick it to him.

It was a matter of time really.

You dont think 4 FRPs , 3 swaps and a young player aka the market value for MVP James Harden is outlandish for the much maligned Ben Simmons?

That's not a starting point as other GMs wont agree to use that as a starting point. That's like Stone using Booker's trade value as a starting point when he is trying to move Danuel House. Thats just delusional and conversations wont go anywhere.

And yet the Toronto package as reported didn't resemble that...... Why is that? Because what you were referring to was just PR.

It's like you guys never watched Morey work when he was here. This is exactly how he has always operated.

Morey is the unlimate "coupon clipper" and "mucker and grinder" as they say in hockey. He always lowballs when he's buying and reaches for the moon when he's selling. And eventually he'll start to come off it, but each step down from his crazy asking price or up from his insulting low-ball is like pulling teeth. He drags everything out until you say "uncle" and give him 33% of his original ask, which is like 7.37% more than the most that you initially were willing to give.

In short, his trade strategy is to annoy you nonstop until you give up and give him what he wants so you can be done with it. Morey's "genius" is that hes going to work harder and endure more discomfort than you.

To some degree, I think other GMs have him pegged and dont want to go through the whole ordeal of dealing with him when there is no chance that they will come away with a big haul.

Im pretty sure it was Stone doing most of the thinking and Morey making deals/calls. Now that we all know nobody likes him he can make same stupid calls while on philly. Im really impressed with Stone we are one year past Harden with a lot of upside, possible future superstars in our roster. Jalen Green has potential to be better than Harden

    Thanks Tilman!

Sixers let go of longtime equipment manager Scott Rego and half of the scouting department in cost-cutting move

Scott Rego was a 76ers lifer ... until Friday.

That’s when the team’s senior director of equipment operations was fired over the phone in a cost-cutting move, according to sources.

He wasn’t alone. Around 17 employees, including half of the scouting department, were let go Friday, according to sources. Delaware Blue Coats general manager Matt Lilly, Blue Coats head strength and conditioning coach Craig Whitworth-Turner, Sixers scouting coordinator Christian Endrigian and respected scouts Rod Baker and Jordan Cohn were among the employees let go. Lilly’s duties also included scouting for the Blue Coats, the Sixers NBA G League team.

Rego, 50, joined the Sixers as a team attendant in October, 1987, while a student at Bodine High School. He worked his way up the ranks, from assistant equipment manager to head equipment manager to senior equipment manager to senior director of equipment management. Rego had a close relationship with Sixers franchise player Joel Embiid.

Friday’s moves came after the Sixers recently parted ways with team security director Juan Jackson.

The Sixers director of scouting Danny Mills also recently left to become the general manager of basketball operations for the Perth Wildcats of Australia’s National Basketball League. Mills is a native of Perth, located in Western Australia.

Getting "cost cut" after 32 years. That is absolute inhuman brutality.

Josh Harris is broke! Tad Brown and Daryl Morey are very experienced in helping their boss save money.
