Faried and Garuba same height-ish and both bundles of energy but they specialize on different sides of the ball.

Did you notice all that running around bothered shots and passes so USA could not score?

Ron Artest was one of best defenders in NBA history.

But he was elite WING defender, who relied on his physicality and mind games in addition to his lateral agility and disruptive hands.

Garuba is clearly a BIG who plays with energy and IQ is very good perimeter defender but not yet at Artest's level.

Garuba is also a very good rim protector, Artest was not that.

    Reminds me of Rodman.

Hopefully the refs will give him the same leeway.

Here is a video of a basketball coach analyzing his shooting form:

Doesn‘t look too bad - a couple of minor things that could be fixed. I would say it is reasonable to believe, that he can develope a 35% 3pt shot over time, if he puts in the work and has a good shooting coach.

Lol Doncic with three quick fouls and Garuba with two quick fouls. Both back to the bench now. But atleast you can see that Garuba has potential and being trusted by the national team as a good switch defender that can also defend guards

Maybe my expectations were low, but he looks better offensively to me then what I've been hearing. He already has better handles and finishing ability than PJ. I use to cringe when PJ didn't shoot the 3 and drove to the rim, this kid looks to be able to finish with either hand and has some ability to plant/spin to get his shot off. He's also got good hands and can make tough catches inside (which is critical IMO).

His set shot 3 needs tons of reps, but it's not horrible and he can shoot it from the corner and up top. With his defensive presence if he can consistently knock down a corner 3, he's going to get lots of minutes. He's also making the correct pass and giving the ball up when he needs to.

With his defensive skills, body/wingspan and only being 19, I believe he's got potential with NBA coaching/development to be an All-Defensive Team guy, who can average 12-15 pts, 8-12 rebs, 1.5-2 blks by year 2 or 3 in 28-32 mins. Really loving this pick!
