    Here is the deal though

If Chaz is going to be the everyday guy and Meyers a backup, and if Clickpura truly believes Chaz is the better player, why was Straw playing over him every day?

    No fan of Dusty here

But if the front office has to trade a player to get the manager to play who they want, we have deeper issues than any of us realize

For the record I don’t think that is the case.

I hope it all works out, just a hell of a time for an experiment this large

Did you mean RF? I'm sure we don't want either guy sniffing CF.

my mistake, just you I guess. Seems a bit over the top but ok.

is it that uncommon for a manager and GM to disagree over who should play?

In my opinion we DO have a serious managerial issue here.

I just hope it doesn't cost us a World Series.

I’m sure it happens quite often, hell no two people are going to agree all the time. You married?

I do think it is strange to think Click really likes Chaz more and as the GM he couldn’t even get close to a timeshare for him….

    With you 100%

We do have the talent to overcome him, but reality is managerial decisions matter, and his pitching decisions are likely to be tough to overcome

He has had a lot of talented teams over the years and never won one

Speaking of possible tensions between Click and Baker, how much longer do you think Dusty sticks around?

Won't get fired but regardless what happens this will probably be his last season. Winning the World Series would be great for Dusty. Contract expiring and retire as a champion.

You definitely don't fire a manager in the middle of a season like this regardless but you answered my question. Was wondering if he gets extended or not but it looks like this could very well be his last year. I know Espada is a hot choice but personally I'd like Matt Quatraro (TB bench coach) more (Click ties, does a great job there).

I do trust strom. His stuff looks nasty and if he pitches like that it’s obviously worth it.

Lineups are always the manager’s decision. The GM can make suggestions based on a plethora of data, but it still comes down to the manager’s call.

Ultimately if the GM is unhappy with how they’re handling things, they fire the manager. Bo Porter was Luhnow’s guy… till he wasn’t.

For the most part I've been a Dusty defender. Not that I think he's any good, just that his pen options have been dog s**t.

But yeah, this deadline certainly gave a lot of not on the same page vibes, which isn't acceptable. Teams are very delicately constructed these days to maximize player strengths, and if he's just doing his own thing, anything short of a title and we likely should get a new manager.

Wasn't everyone praising Dusty for pushing all the right buttons in last year's playoffs, especially with pitching?

I think Dusty will be out after this season regardless of what happens. We are winning despite Dusty, not because of him. We hired Dusty because we had a veteran group and wanted someone who was more of a player's coach so no one got pissed off. I'm guessing AJ comes back if he indeed has an opt out clause in his contract.
