[OFFICIAL] Rockets select Jalen Green with #2 overall pick

This draft was not what we've become accustomed to with Morey constantly maneuvering to improve the roster, all while drafting.

Green was always going to be the pick unless Cade was available, but there were mentions that Green was the guy regardless of anything. I'm hopeful, but until I see it, I don't feel the magic of Stevie Franchise and Cuttino as a rebuilding comparison. (Ownership keeps making me doubt the intentions to win)

The biggest surprise for me was EGo. There were many offers for EGo to be included in this draft, so I'm surprised a bit. But, it seems he will be used in something more substantial for a contender. He's the last of the guys that our owner "owes" to be put in a decent situation, (Tuck, Harden and WB wanting out by any means) Denver has interest in EGo because of shooting woes.

Speaking of...If Russ had chemistry issues with James and co, I can't see him being great for AD and LBJ (just me)

As for the elephant in the room: John Wall does not want to be a Rocket, but finding a buyer with a decent return is tough.

Westbrook made it out of Washington on his contract, so it's possible. All I've heard are a few teams out East who need a quality PG. JW is a good player, but he's still recovering.

Also, some ears of Toronto being interested as a facilitator when KLow finds his last big contract.
Either way, JW will only be a Rocket to start the season (if it takes that long). The hope is for some decent role players to help the youth movement, and some beef to help back CWood.

All of the discussion of Wall I have seen has been the Knicks since the Harden trade. I have no sources on anything. Is this in line with what you hear? Thanks for all of your contributions. I also expected EGo to go LONG AGO. GSW was what I thought last year.

he’s got all the physical tools Kobe had and the more I hear him talk I’m starting to think he might have the mental make up too which was probably Kobe and Jordan’s greatest strength. It’s one thing to think you’re the best it’s another to know it. He’s creating the chip on his shoulder and that’s what the best do to drive them.

I think Big Al's hat along with Greens bun are creating a little bit of an illusion, that being said I'd be pretty surprised if Sengun was a legit 6'10, I'd bet on him being around 6'8 or something (barefoot).



Whiteside was measured at 6'10.5 barefoot at 21 years old by the combine.

 

Man, there aren’t too many kids with Green’s demeanor to go with the game to back it up. This dude really has a Mamba mentality. Here he is against Cade Cunningham, and you can see it in Jalen’s eyes he’s out to prove he’s the best (around 4 min mark). Can’t wait for Rockets vs Pistons this season…
