Click likes Meyers more than Straw and got maximum value out of Straw.

Tucker playing CF is very interesting to me.

I think Tucker may have been playing CF yesterday regardless of the trade.

Raley can't be sent down. He has no options. So no I don't think they will cut Raley.

I'm telling you, Dusty will use him again and again.

I agree, but with Click describing Taylor and Raley as "weapons to get lefties out" in one of his most recent zoom conferences I doubt they cut Raley. I hope I'm wrong, but also I don't expect them to want to lose Raley's arm when they have guys like Stanek, Taylor, and Abreu that aren't exactly world beaters and have options left. I also wouldn't be surprised if they sent Javier down for 10 days because that would gain a year of control since he has already been down in AAA this year early on and a total of about 15 days off the MLB roster would lose the full year of service They can claim some bs about limiting his innings.

He might in the regular szn but I can’t see him going to him over and over again come the playoffs.

Then odds are he will get burned again and again. Cut him and move on.

He still has a 0.4 WAR, so trading him, even though not eligible for post season, would be conceivable. I don't want the Purpora throw away mentality he displayed with Adam Everett. ANYTHING is better than NOTHING.

Trades are not done. Just trades for players to be eligible for the playoffs. I wouldn't mind a lefty from a team not going to the playoffs just to finish the regular season.

So you can still trade after deadline, they're just not playoff eligible?

Raley's career stats are.... unimpressive, to say the least.

That's my understanding. But if I'm wrong, I have no doubt I will be corrected quickly. I do not keep up with the nuanced changes in MLBPAs.

Raley has a 6.35 career ERA. WAR is -1.2 for 2021. He was signed in 2020 for 2 years at $3 million. He's a millionaire:(

You're wrong, but since you have me on ignore you'll never know you're wrong.

"Will August waiver trades be allowed after the 2021 trade deadline?
Nope, those days and deals are over.

MLB in 2019 abolished the August waiver deals that enabled teams to continue making trades after the actual trade deadline had passed. If a player cleared waivers, he was eligible to be traded and still qualify for the postseason roster. That transaction loophole of sorts led to the annual July deadline to become known as the non-waiver trade deadline, or in other words, not much of a deadline at all.

Now it’s a true trade deadline. If a team wants to trade for a player in 2021, it will have to be done before the clock strikes 4 p.m. on July 30."
