Haven't seen one of these in a while. I love trying out new ones. This first one isn't new at all, but man. Does it make me recall my childhood.
Funny my parents ate french on taco salads last night. I've never cared for it. i am a mild taco bell sauce type of guy. I grew up in Montana. THroughout the state there a few of these cafes. I think they are still open. Anyway, they always made a badass cream of tom soup. I'd recommend making it and trying out. https://copykat.com/original-4bs-homemade-tomato-soup/
Let's start with the basics then, you have any real creole gumbo and chili recipes? Good ones, not some bullshit...
This could come across as negative, and it’s not intended to be at all, but I suggest llearning techniques not recipients. Sear, grill, braise, pan sauces, gravys, pasta sauce and cooking techniques, Then you can make almost anything.
J. Kenji Lopez Alt is my new guy. Got tired of listening to Babish talking about him and started watching him, and now I'm hooked. Made his biscuits and gravy a couple of times recently: Super simple recipe. The cream biscuits he makes are 1000x easier than laminating with butter, and there is nothing in the world better than bread-type products fresh out of the oven. But J. Kenji Lopez Alt is a very useful youtuber for practical every day cooking.
Lol. at "recipients." This isn't bad advice. But I could barely make cereal in my 20s. For that reason, I've always been a stickler to recipes. It's a crutch, but I've found some fantastic ones over the years. My Moussaka beats any restaurant I've been to so far. As Rachel Ray says: "I'm a cook. I'm not a Chef."
And this, to me, was a fun watch. I had to watch in portions because the broad that came over last night wasn't interested.
Here's a pork butt recipe than anyone with any grill can do at home, I need to check out some of his different rubs just for fun https://uproxx.com/life/best-bbq-pork-by-tuffy-stone/
