Don't we kind of need to see him on an NBA court to make a comparison like that? I mean you can compare physical and athletic stats but historically those don't mean much.

Fans blow me away (not you btw) but people see a few highlight videos and read some stats from playing in other leagues then suddenly the prospect is being hailed as next Hakeem Olajuwon.

I'll be happy with just the next Vucevic which is definitely within reach for this kid.

In the footage I have seen of him, he reaches for steals a lot and puts his body out of position to stay in front of defender and most offensive players read that and just blow by him. Whether it's a desperate attempt to make a steal because he thinks he is going to get cooked otherwise or just bad form - it seems like if nothing else he would stand to improve dramatically just with better fundamentals...and I'm optimistic at just turning 19, his defensive ceiling can still be raised further. I would imagine step 1 of his improvement on that side of the ball was "lose weight" which clearly he has done - now he has to learn how to get back to those fundamentals with more mobility at his disposal.

Tbh Marcus Morris although not an all star still turned into a really good player. I think Rox just got extremely disappointed they got him over Kawhi that they gave up on the kid too soon.

I mean Rox paid Ryan Scrubberson 18M a year, Morris could've provided that kind of spacing while still playing defense and rebounding if the Rox had kept him around.

Great write up. With an editor you could write for a sports blog.

Type "Josh Christopher height" into Google it proudly and boldly lists him at 6'5"

    He is 6'3" barefoot https://www.nba.com/stats/draft/combine-anthro/

Sengun is listed 6'9" and 6'10" probably means he's 6'7-8" and if you look at him next to Green (who is listed at 6'6" on the G league website) and Christopher it's hard to imagine he's 5-6" taller. More like 3-4".

The pictures of Garuba and Sengun standing side by side...

Also all of basketball for all of time in every city the NBA has graced?

    Examples lol

    Great vid!

Notice he does most of his damage in drop coverage. Sengun likes to keep himself between guy he is defending and the ball. That allows him to jump passing lanes while leaning on his man.

He is so smart, he waits until the last second to leave his feet, this allows him to maximize his wingspan.

Not as nearly as effective when he touches up or switches, especially on perimeter.

Sengun has such active hands and very good straight line burst that I think he will be better racking up steals than shot blocking.

Stone would have hit home run with me with 16th pick - so many options at that spot.

    Alperen Sengun
    Jalen Johnson
    Kai Jones
    Usman Garuba

And then taking Garuba at 23!!!!

DRAFT would have been PERFECT if he traded 24 + House for 2 SRP and taken:

    JT Thor
    Deuce McBride

But I'm still holding out hope that Josh Christopher is going to shock all of us.

    Transition monster!

If Stone justs trade House for future pick and SIGN Vrenz Bleijenbergh I would be more than good!

Rockets can focus on elite DEFENSE next draft.

Stone likes to keep it to 1 BFF.

On another note, KJ martins best friend is def Ben mclemore. They gush over each other on ig all day.

Definitely more intrigued the more tape I watch. He's actually pretty damn mobile for somebody who I keep seeing in draft reports as "a traditional big." Can definitely run in transition and handle the ball well for his size. Has intensity in a lot of highlights I've seen, especially when finishing inside. Nice footwork. I actually think that Center could be a strong position for us with Sengun behind Wood. Having Garuba and the other dogs on defense should cover those deficiencies and both of our 5's would be agile, great finishers. I already thought it was a good pick, it may be a great one.

After watching his highlights, I am not excited about him at all. He is short, slow and not a good shooter. He looks like a good low post player but it is a skill that is not useful in today’s NBA.
